excellent showcase of this one, thanks Paul! Sounds incredible really. I'd heard people talk about this as a more subtle EQ but it's capable of some really amazing changes to the music.
Absolutely incredible EQ. Every move just feels so natural. Suggestion for future videos showcasing EQs: I'm also always very interested in how transparent they sound when cutting, especially on these clean EQs like the Goly PG. So more settings where you are cutting frequencies, maybe on a less well balanced mix, would be awesome. Anyhow, thanks for the video!
2:53 Wow, amazing transient emphasis and punch with this small adjustment! After just an additional dB, tighten the Q and nudge the frequency upward (probably to the first harmonic of the kick's fundamental?), the A/B was night and day on that low end punch. Really impressive. I tried a PG23 for a few days and now have one on the way. Your demo here is very true to the experience I had with it in person. Thanks so much. You do excellent sound examples as well as reviews!
@@ThisGuyDude you are going to love it. It's one of those EQs that can sometimes feel like it's doing nothing. Then you bypass it and can hear the difference is night and day.
My surname is Grinderslev, before I offered the GOLY units, I sold kits and PCBs as PCB Grinder - the first GOLY unit I did was a redesign of the original Porter, based off one-off units I had been building on order, with several modifications. Porter Grinder
Super nice EQ!! Maybe the wrong place to ask, but as this is going to the other studio room, is there an HG-Q incoming soon? Did they take the cut solid state boost tube from your MichealAngelo EQ idea I wonder?
@TeeDubz perfectly fine to ask here. And yes I am hoping to get my hands on one. I've been looking forward to it releasing for a couple of years now. Going to test the plugin and I'm sure it'll be something I will buy for Studio B. I'm not sure they took the idea. I actually think if that's what they've done, they actually thought of it first. As I know this has been in production for some time.
hello Paul, have you had the chance to play with Manley Massive Passive EQ and Variable MU Compressor ? what do you think about them? Good job with all the videos that you guys are making ! Wish you all the best.
@@christianocean8998 I've used both multiple times and always enjoyed them. Manley is one brand we don't have in our studio. Don't know why that is. Certainly not because it isn't good gear.
@@AudioAnimalsStudio The PQ plugin competes really well with the Massive Passive at Access Analog. Definitely a lot better than the plugin versions of the Massive.

@simon_dupp is a super natural and transparent EQ. You almost question if it is active. Until you bypass it. Which is what I like about this EQ.

Love it! The sax is hard on the songs. The second song started like Human Leagues' "Dont You Want Me" 🙂
Great Device! Not bad pricing on your services as well. 🙏 4 your business.
Thanks for this! Hard to find examples online. I always have wondered though, why its called a Porter GRINDER
@Rhuggins It is based on the NetEQ which was designed by the late Barry Porter. Not sure where the grinder comes from.

@@AudioAnimalsStudio Yes it looks great. Cannot wait for the hardware v plugin comparison ;) going to be an amazing unit.
