How do you know when it’s time to lubricate? And why does the rubber around the brewer need lubrication? It doesn’t move

You just lubricate when you see the grease is gone. It's good to lubriacte all the rubber seals to prolong their life. Otherwise they get stiff sooner.

can i use coconut oil to lubricate (at least food grade)..if any goes to coffee..it becomes a bulletproof coffee accidentally

no coffee but all on the collecting tray. is it gotta do with the transparent tubing outflow ? thx. also bean not grinded fine enuf

Does Melitta recommend lubrication? I remember Saeco did recommend, but not sure about Melitta

Yes. Those brewing units work the same way in most makes.
