Should've asked for the Redmi K20, around the same price with flagship level specs. Google is becoming Apple with their overpriced Pixel 3 with bad build quality and this 2010 phone spec 3a. But still, Redmi K20 or OnePlus 7 are better buys for your money or the person getting you a phone's money.

Hey Lew et al, The wife and I just upgraded to pixel 3a's. I was on an iphone5 before and was iphone only until this week. Over the years I had iphone 1,3, 4 and 5. I was the apple hold out. The rest of the house was on the android train long ago. Gotta say I love this phone so far. Pulled over my data without a hiccup and the fast charging is a revelation. I know for most this seems trivial but after being on the apple train since 07 this its been an interesting change.
This is exactly the type of phone I want. An awesome camera with okay/decent specs at an affordable cost. Good shit Google.
Do you plan on getting it? I'm rocking the regular pixel 3 and in loving it. I'd like to see how the lower version operates.

Xiaomi Mi 9 is cheaper though. 3 great camera's (with native Gcam support with the newest MIUI), better build quality, bigger battery, Snapdragon 855 (fastest SOC), 6GB RAM.

Big thanx for the tutorial, bro! My Nexus 5X died on me and I went ahead and purchased the Pixel 3a from Google. I've had a Google Fi account for about 4 years now and they've never let me down. The 3a was offered at $299 but I got credited for that amount and only had to pay tax and standard shipping, which came out to $39 bucks. I'm waiting for it to arrive (maybe tomorrow) and I'll let you know my findings.
I love the purple-ish colour. It reminds me of Japanese consumer electronics from the late 80's/early 90's. They always did that slightly white with a hue-thing. It still looks very futuristic, IMO.

@@andytoskovic I currently have a 64GB Moto g5s plus and a 128GB micro SD card of which the SD card is almost full of music and videos. I would have to deal with significantly less storage on the phone which I can't really do given my current usage situation. It seems like the omission of sd card slots is nothing more than a way for companies to force us to pay 100$ more for an additional 64GB of storage where as a 128GB SD card costs 25$ and can be moved from phone to phone
@@FubarMike that's fair enough, I just keep the stuff I need on iCloud. But when I was using android, SD cards mechanics were so frustrating and stupid to me, when I try to move apps to SD card, that app's memory would partially move to SD, while the majority of data stays on the device memory... Also, whenever I update some apps, I have to move them to SD card again and again (for some reason apps just come back to the device memory when you update them), so I just stopped doing it. Also, only some of the apps I used were even able to move to SD card...
Damn, now I remember why i switched to iPhone, I was so sick of android's shit they served to me, I just miss the days of KitKat and JellyBean sometimes lol...

I just bought this device and I really like it. What got me was the price point. I have always had Nexus and Pixel phones and love the clean software experience. $399? Can't be beaten.

I have the 3A xl and the LG v40 thinq I can't notice any speed difference and the screen looks just as good and you can't beat the pure Google experience

@@apexgamer2636 yeah but in recent trends most of the phones run very smooth regardless of processor. The only time you feel the low end processor is when doing heavy duty processing. I'll take better display and camera over processor anyday.

For $399-$450 I've seen some phones with SD 855 & 8-12GB ram Lenovo Z6 for example. I dunno about the updates tho but for me I don't really care aslong as it's stable and secure.

not really..... there is plastic and then, there is plastic.. there are lot of type of plastics, for various of use cases... there is ABS, or Nylon which do amazing jobs in certain applications... polycarbonate is not a bad material for a phone.. if its made sturdy enough. the glass backs from phones are so easy to fu.. up.. and if you buy a decent protective case for them, you wont see the fancy glass back, so its really pointless...
Nokia did polycarbonate very well. This Pixel 3a has that same quality polycarbonate. I purchased the 3a last night. So far I'm very satisfied.

Battery life the best i have seen after Xperia.
I've seen a few people commenting about the lack of an SD card. Many phone companies remove this feature to promote cloud storage. Its not too bad on the Pixel Devices, because Google Photos lets you have unlimited storage.

Have the 3a (the small one). Mind blowing camera, really. Super fast phone, terrific screen, and two days of battery life with a single charge. It is worth mentioning that I'm not a gamer.
Yeah I use my alot and it last me till the end of a productive day then I charge it around 8 pm

3A looks SIGNIFICANTLY better than the 3. I'll always take a 1080p display with no notch over a QHD display that has a notch
