Amazing work and great editing and filming!
Thanks so much!
Great idea putting the padding between the webbing.
This is actually a really interesting thing I learned about these chairs is that you need to add in that padding to help transfer the weight of the person to all of the webbing. Without the padding only the top layer is actually load bearing, and has a reduced weight capacity because of that!
Beautiful work, man. Really.
Thanks a lot!
Killer job, dude. The weaving must have been super tedious, but it turned out awesome.
I think it took a couple hours! Totally worth it in the end, it's by far one of the most comfortable chairs I've sat in.
It baffles me how you don't have more subs! You're constantly putting out great, high quality videos! Keep them coming!
It's a slow processes but the ball is starting to roll! Thanks for sticking around and watching my videos!
My thoughts, exactly! Dude kills it in the shop! Killer work!
Thank you!
Great job. Chair looks great. I’ve been watching a lot of videos on hide glue lately. I really want to start using it in my projects.
It defenitly is an experience, takes a little more patience than PVA but defenitly has some benefits.
Great work on the steam bending technique - I think I'd have been so disheartened when the first one snapped that I'd have given up at that point!
I was fully expecting that first attempt to fail, so much so that I'd made spare parts and had already started the second attempt at the same time as the first. Any time you try to steam bend kiln dried wood, you're asking for a few hard lessons!
I know that satisfaction you felt at 12:16 quite well. When it all comes together.
Best feeling in the world!
nice chair!
Thanks!
Is a really great looking chair.. As you said steaming the rear legs to get them to enable a little leaning into the back would be a great addition.
Looking forward to seeing where the design goes next. I would go with 3 bent ladders as a back rest and save all the weaving time, would look a little more traditional, may be? Cheers.
I was going to do it that way but I personally like the woven back. The weaving takes alot of work but having that woven back really makes this chair very comfortable. I'm going to try the more traditional style at some point though!
