Almost right is NOT right. “And it is through our marriage, that Lord willing, we will both have obtained salvation.” So when his wife converted to the faith (Catholicism) she obtained salvation? Eph 2:8-9 says otherwise

I live in Kansas City, and am a Chiefs fan so I take even more interest in the Butker story than many. Really our local CBS station seems to be the only one really covering this one, it is fair coverage, but most seem unwilling to touch this one, as the Chiefs are a big deal here. What's worse is most of the outrage seems to be what people heard, or think he said, and nobody that is angered actually watched his speech. I would also say for any news story, political personality, or idea, if you are going to have a strong opinion listen to first hand accounts first before you listen to what anyone say about it. If you don't like a speech listen to it, if you don't like a person listen to what they say and figure out why. It just seems if people watched the video of Butker speaking, they may disagree, but they would at least disagree with what he actually said, and might even agree with some parts. It is impossible for somebody to be 100% right or 100% wrong about everything.

If you carefully go through Butker’s speech, you will notice that he spends a lot of time criticizing. He criticizes parish priests for being too informal with the parishioners. He criticizes bishops for being too concerned about their images. He has a few words for the ladies and then the gentlemen in the audience. Was he bragging that he has a wife who is devoted to him? The last section of the speech is a wacky criticism of masses that aren’t in Latin. He says people should move to be near a church with a Latin mass, even if the priest or the church is bad. Butker clearly wasn’t trying to win any converts to Roman Catholicism. It didn’t seem like he was trying to inspire the new graduates. It seemed like his objective was to boldly proclaim his beliefs, even if they wouldn’t benefit anyone. Why is this worthy of praise? Butker certainly wasn’t boasting of the goodness and sufficiency of Christ.
I watched some of the commencement speech. Where can I find me a husband like this? (Just not Catholic.) Ugh, I couldn't get through that other video. What a wicked, evil man. Why isn't he in prison?! And why do chicks get involved with scumbags who treat them like this?!
Men are out there. I suggest trying to find circles where they are more likely to be found. My wife and i recently attended the Church and Family Life conference that has a focus on things like that. And they had a whole day especially for singles.
I don't think anyone is praising Diddy right now. Even the tweet you showed called him a scumbag who deserved to go to prison. Being a young person whos not really into rap music, im still on the periphery of most rap news, and all public opinion ive heard of him (be it memes, videos) has been negative. Ive also heard about him being compared to Epstein.
