Thank you for sharing your first video with us Bill. I appreciated your humility and the high degree of skill and knowledge you've gained over time. I'm glad you left the breaking of the ring in. Many will scrap the video or make another piece to replace the broken part without mentioning it. Love your work. Maybe Ringmaster could hire you as a salesman, or at least give you a sponsorship, because you made me want one now :)
I think it looks great! Glueing the split piece or carving beyond the damage, who cares? So long as the finished piece looks nice. The rubes don’t need to know how the sausage is made
Bill, thanks for the video. I bought a Ringmaster a few years ago and have to admit I haven't used it yet. Having RUclips videos like yours help to understand how to use it.
Nice job Bill. So sorry that ring chipped on you. I almost wanted to go looking on the floor for the piece that flew off! We've all been there. I've had a few fly apart on me during a catch. Scares the heck out of you.
Hi nice video Bill! Excuse my ignorance, I'm not a wood turner yet. In minute 47:05 when the catch happened, it look's to me that the chip was one piece flying off. Then on minute 47:36 you tried to fix next ring a told us that was not repairable. My question is why did you not tried to glue the rIP off chip with CA glue and then try to fix next ring to make sure the work was over? Thank's in advance for your explanation!
Bill, I’m new at turning dizzy bowls and I appreciate your video and I am also sorry about the mishap. I don’t use a ringmaster but I do use the stomper as you do. I’m wondering how you centered the chuck on the stomper after you turned away the hole for the dowel.
Hey Bill, I just purchased a Ring master for my 16" Vicmark lathe. I am getting a ton of chatter turning the crank very slow compared to what you are doing on your video. Any thoughts on why that may be? I have spoke with Peter at Ring master and we can't figure it out. Jim
Do you sell your program for excell? I have had a ringmaster for over 20. Years. That program realy impressed me. You have refined the set up to point ot total perfection. Great videos that tear out broke my heat. I had that happen 100 of times. You just never know when total failure or one piece will break off.Great video please make so more I have learned so much from you .

I will turn a very shallow (1/16" deep), 5/8"diameter recess in the bottom of the piece for centering. This will be turned away when I turn the bowl.

Bill Bulloch could I have a copy of your excel file please lloydajamieson@gmail.com
Good job.
Just curious about the angled ring cutter you had showing how you cut the rings out ...where did you get it and what is it called?
Are you talking about the Excel program? I made it. If you want a copy send me your email address.
@@billbulloch8824 yes
@@billbulloch8824 if you would please, thanx so much...you may send it to paulecrouse@gmail.com if you would
You could also cut the rings out using a thin parting tool coming in at an angle, if you don't have a Ringmaster.
Do you have a copy of that excel file?
I do send me your email address and I'll send you a copy
