Gutted about Braintax, Grew up listening to Low life. Have you heard this Chester P the greatest story never told. ruclips.net/video/zcFPed8QpLU/видео.html
Chester names every planet in our solar system. His first line, I’m the spaceman type His last line, the spaceman type from a section that’s nameless. Now listen to it again. I’m the comic gypsy welcome to my kingdom, the space is my wife and the planets are my children.
I always imagined that Jehst’s line ‘escaping the stasis of carbonite preservation’ was talking about freeing ones mind seeing that we, as humans, are carbon based life forms. But you’re right, it was a blatant Star Wars quote and I’ve missed it all this time. It’s crazy that nearly a decade and half after first hearing this I still find new stuff. Thanks Canadian Dad, it gives me immense joy to watch you get the feels from something me and my friends grew up listening to. Greetings from sunny old England 👍
You had the stank face on for a good 50% of that one man! Can't blame you though! Absolute genius on display. I ran this track back over and over back in the day. Just being able to comprehend the lyrics made me feel smart ha.
1Jackal1 you’d have to hear it a bunch of times to even scratch the surface. Way too much going on. I’ve listened to it a few more times and still catching a load of stuff each time. Brilliant writing.
Cool to see you going through these uk classics and pushing ukhh as it’s always been in it’s own little bubble and criminally gets slept on by the rest of the world, big up yourself for the videos and it’s great to see that these tracks still have as much impact as when I first heard them!
This was the one I was waiting for, Jehst and Chest’ are on another level for sure. The lelectric sheep feed on AstroTurf” bar is one of the best ever, the imagery is maddd. Wish I could go back to my first time hearing this!
until you actually write, the verses these guys do are still underrated...its hard to fathom how to rhyme this sort of stuff in the way they do, with the multi syllabic schemes its ridiculous ! the best of the best, big respect
Track is a special one, listen to it always! Always listening to the authorship and the butterfly trio by chester p and task force also, lyrical genius and the butterfly trio are just happy and put a smile on my face xD
Braintax - escuchame Kashmere iguana man - life or death Life - moviedrome (🤯) Tommy Evans - silent mobius Taskforce - life without instruction Foreign Beggers ft. Dr syntax - glacial
Also.. If you can find it on RUclips, I have an LP called Breakin Bread 7" deadly sins It's awesome and worth checking out Dpf and cappo - focus on main features if 1 track from the album
Yoooooooo Kashmere the Iguana(King Kash, Strange U/ Gawd Status) has some of the best vocal visuals in the game.. Lyrical genius on a level not many could get remotely close to
I had never heard of this track until seeing this, wow! I think Jehst just about nailed it for me - I only found out about him yesterday. Doh! Great reaction, keep it up!
Great reaction. Absolute stone cold U.K. classic. But I have to agree with you, Braintax verse is underwhelming. Fuck Braintax 🤣. Looking forward to live reactions 😬👍
Other tunes to listen to - Jehst - High Plains Anthem - Wordsmiff - Apocalypse When (ft Jehst & Skriblah) - Jehst - City of Industry - Jehst- Carpe Diem- Champions Of Nature - Task Force - Butterfly Concerto Bro if you ever wanna jump on a video call and run through UK HH I am happy to introduce you to some fire!!!
Loved your response to this beat, It is a masterpiece! Jehst- England is also another masterclass act. One of the hardest hitting pieces especially for us brits.
It’s a legendary track, off a legendary E.P. You ought to react to Chester’s “Intro” track off of “Voice of The Great Outdoors” too, or I highly recommend reacting to “Battlecats” and “The Last Tune”, all off this same EP. Mind you, now I think of it, “Butterfly Concerto” and “Six Names” are worth reacting to also but I’ve listed the entire EP now, so I’ll get my coat ....
His verse on this and his contribution to uk hip hop in the naughties were masive but Braintax was a proper 🐍 unfortunately. He fucked so many guys over. ALL the big guys!!
Hi there. I stumbled across your channel a few months back by going down RUclips rabbit holes (as you do). Really enjoying this and the reviews. I am a big UK hip hop fan and with young kids and Covid meaning i'm not DJing at the moment means I don't have the same time to dig for new music, so this is great! Do you have an email address for the channel? There is a whole another side to the UK scene with B-Line Recordings, real boom-bap golden sounds record label and slightly less darker themes than High Focus (which I do love too, namely Leaf Dog and Ocean Wisdom). Artists on the B-Line label like Chrome, Whirlwind D, Specifik & Project Cee and Uncle Mic Nitro are worth checking out. Chrome is from my hometown of Norwich, UK and has been repping for 20 years. He's also affiliated with DJ Format and recently The Allergies and Andy Cooper from Ugly Duckling. Phi Life Cypher have always been one of my favourite UK acts, you've reacted to Si Phili from the group but worth checking out Life MC too. He's had some good solo projects. 'In Memory' is a great track from his album Everyday Life. Keep up the good work and great seeing the UK love, a very under-valued hip hop scene (always has been).
One of my favourite tunes, ever, but Braintax, I adored his bars etc, and found out how he f*cked Taskforce over years back, haven't really listened to him since, years fone by and he hasn't even reached out to resolve it.
Ali Fraser I’m in Ontario, so it’s like a 5 or 5 1/2 hour difference I think. I was thinking of doing it here around 430 or 5 (my time) and stay on line for an hour or so.
@@jordanlock9746 He stole money from every emcee on Low Life records in the early 2000s and was skimming $$ from every show or battle he had anything to do with.
‘Escape the stasis of carbonate preservation’ lots don’t get it!!! Big ups Canadian dad for this! Probably one of the greatest bits of UK music of all time for me!
Braintax was a huge disappointment for me! He was the most politically militant MC in the UK towards the end of his career, but then he bugged out and screwed over his own artists while living fat in Goa. I still love his music though, especially Syriana, or Tools. Great MC, even better producer, unfortunately a total hypocrite.
Yeah, it was a really tough pill to swallow, hearing about how he acted....I didn't want to believe it, as i really loved a lot of his music, Birofunk was awesome and even his last album I grew to love. As you say, he was very political and really came with a strong message. Such a shame he disappeared...I miss him, even if he did make a mistake. Still hoping he returns one day with an aussie accent. 😂
Braintax might take some getting used to, he’s really different. No issue with listening to him millions still listen to a Michael Jackson ffs! Too many classic tracks to be ignored for being an ass🕳
36 Chambers 😂 none of the above sir! Only Braintax. Biro Funk is a pillar of the U.K. hip hop scene, knowledge of the culture is incomplete without him I think.
@@robhughes4682 Yeah The Dark Craftsmen were a South Coast outfit around 2000 and a bit earlier... the main rapper now uses the monika 'Uncle Mic Nitro' and still releases stuff today... I met him a few times and he's really lyrical
After another couple listens, I’ve got to give Braintax some props. Still hard to follow that Chester verse.
I was going to say man his flows smooth at the eginning of that verse
Braintax is a mad MC and has released many UKHH classics, it’s just a shame he turned out to be a complete pagan.
Can someone tell me why braintax is a pagan????

This was one of the first UK hip hop tracks I heard and I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
