Just a quick video showing how I (eventually) fixed my neighbor's Honda CR-V with a P0497 Evaporative Emissions System Low Purge Flow and ABS Trouble Codes and issues.
Yes, I made some mistakes, but I learned from them. Hopefully showing what I did wrong in this video will help someone avoid making the same mistakes that I did. The Innova 5610 Car Scan Tool really helped me find and isolate the problems with this vehicle along with confirming the repair (finally).
I should've diagnosed this vehicle's issues further with a few more tests which would have saved me some time and frustration of changing out the very stuck wheel speed sensor and/or having the change the bearing because I damaged the magnetic tone ring with the bore brush that I was using.
    Now I know...
    Thanks for watching!

I have a 2010 CRV LX. NO check engine light but there is a Check Fuel Cap message on the dash. Code reader shows, P0497 and P145C. I've replaced the gas cap and the purge valve. Neither has fixed it. Where to next?

Vent solenoid on evap charcoal canister, charcoal canister, fuel tank pressure sensor, hoses for evap system.
Big starting question: do you smell gas near your vehicle? If so, you have a fuel vapor leak. Get a mechanic to do a leak check with a smoke machine.
Likely culprits include gas cap and evap vent solenoid typically on charcoal canister.
Just replacing the gas cap may not fix your issue. Be sure to clean the sealing contact surfaces. Hondas are also picky about aftermarket gas caps. Might need to get the actual Honda OEM gas cap. Do a smoke test before you replace any parts though.
P0145c is just a generic evap system code.
P0497 is typically evap purge low flow.
Low flow can be caused by:
Failed evap purge solenoid.(hondas are picky about this part as well, reccomend honda OEM part.
      Clogged evap purge charcoal canister.
      Failing/Failed fuel tank pressure sensor.
      Clogged/collapsed hoses to purge solenoid.
Clogged at inlet to air intake from the purge solenoid.

Does the Innova 5610 have an option to turn on and off the evap purge solenoid to test it? The 5610 is bidirectional, unless the feature is just not available for the 04 crv.

@@danb1682 you can type in your year make and model on their coverage checker website and it will tell you what features are available.
      Thx!
