I have watched recent news coverage (CNN, BBC, etc) where the hero of Hotel Rwanda was actually "kidnapped" by authorities and charged and put into trial without being accorded due process. Good that he has been released now owing to US negotiations as he has US PR. Again, I have great respect for the President having seen lots of documentaries and I hope there has been lessons learnt moving forward.

Victims are not talked about in the whole of Aljazeer stories, we don't know their names, we know names of daughters of the alleged terrorist.
When it is a western country, they read the names of the victims and ages, show flowers, light candels, pictures etc but because Rwanda is an African country, blacks, african lives don't matter.

I am not even from Rwanda, i am Ethiopian. I just visited kigali last week for the first time. And i just couldn't believe i was in Rwanda. It is much different than what anybody would assume listening to this news agencies like Al Jazeera for example. Rwanda as much developed and safe country than countries i have been in including many countries in Europe and USA. The people in Rwanda love Paul kagame. They are very happy and thankful about him and his government. And infact, i have not wittnessed any reason why they should not. Paul Kagame is an iconic leader not only for Rwanda, but Africa. All these so called "human rights defenders" , where were they when the Genocide happened?? They made it seem like human rights is the agenda here, which it isn't if we are being honest. They just want him to be removed. They don't care what the people of Rwanda actually want. They only care about what they want. I can never understand anyone who is actually wishing good for Rwanda to be against paul Kagame. It just doesn't add up. Rwanda should be thankful to have such an amazing leader.

We must always suspicious of any one who defends another person when they are in close association with universities like Loyola, George town university etc..
The very same forces that kept Rwanda under tyranny and poverty until Kagames leadership of transformation came into power are the same ones or spirit trying to derail him now through propaganda.
Kagame is a true honest pure and transparent individual who wants nothing less than a good life for his people in their own country just as what the western society wants for their people and citizens.
We must unite against the evil global leaders who wants to run the world as if they are superior than the rest of us.
The day we back down and remain silenced is the day we will be overwhelmed and persecuted by the evil forces of the world.
I praise President Kagame for standing up not only for Rwanda and Rwandans but a as beacon for truth, honesty and righteousness to the world. Leaders of third world countries should emulate Kagame and defend their country and citizens.

Indeed, that al Jazeera video is a mess. Br*an works as a lecturer at Loyola University in Chicago. On its website, this university says that _“He is also President of the Hotel Rwanda Rusabagin Foundation (HRRF).”_ Yet, 6 months before his appearance on al Jazeera, an article published in The National Interest had pointed out the following:
“HRRF, meanwhile, has like the Holy Land Foundation, been notoriously opaque. There is no evidence it has carried out charitable activities in Rwanda (or elsewhere). Evidence shows Rusabagin transferred money to the U.S.-and UN-designated [as a terrist group] Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda, which raises questions about where those funds came from and if the charity [HRRF] played any role.”
Because of these criminal activities, the article warns that “some of Rusabagin’s most vocal American supporters [including HRRF’s president brian] might soon find themselves in legal jeopardy.”
The article was published on March 11, 2021 under the title: _“Do Hotel Rwanda’s rusabagin Cheerleaders Risk American Prison?”_ The Al jazeera interviewer should have confronted br*an about this. But his own extreme bias prevented him from doing so.

Doesn’t make him a bad leader but let us not pretend that Rwanda has a free society because it doesn’t. The previous leader who gained popularity was also sentenced to a long prison sentence. She wasn’t even given time to explain. I followed the trial and I will try to explain to help you understand why Brian’s is not telling the truth : 1. Not a lawyer can not comment on the fairness of the trial but it was transparent every preceding live in Kinyarwanda and English and in my opinion it was independent and as fair as it can be. The guys decided to boycott the trial when it was his turn to bring in his witnesses.
    2. Kidnapped maybe not the right word. In court it was discovered he was tricked by his long time friend from Belgium, a pastor who decided to dope him in after he discovered his hand in the attacks in Rwanda. It’s the pastor who contacted the Rwanda investigation bureau, and accepted to be their informant to try and Loure him into Rwanda to get arrested ( he already had an international arrest warrant on him). He talked him into taking him to Burundi by a private jet from Dubai, however tricked him to believing jet was going to Burundi but Rwanda. He got arrested in Rwanda.
    3. There was no proof of torture, himself said he was well treated in interview with New York Times even in court he didn’t mention anything of torture of any nature. It’s the family in the US making it up.
    3. He had 3 Rwandan lawyers he chose himself to representing him . He wanted his 6 lawyers from US, Belgium, Australia but under the Rwandan law you have to be accredited in Rwanda to represent someone in court. These lawyers aren’t. It’s the same law even in Belgium and US.
Lot of things aren’t true largely made up by his family to try and get international attention

If this is their reaction to a televised court case, imagine the reaction had it no been broadcasted. Western governments have never had African interests at heart so this is no surprise. Starting from colonisation to destabilisation of post ‘independence’ Africa. Rais Kagame is one of the few leaders to resist western dictatorship of Africa and Rwanda is reaping the benefits. Aljazeera hired many ex BBC people and their coverage of Africa now sounds ‘colonial’. They believe Africans cannot manage themselves without supervision from countries which happen to be responsible for more death and suffering in Africa than was experienced in the tragic genocide in Rwanda.

    His not a hero
    That movie was frictions
It’s just west propaganda to make him look like heroic. You can see that even American President was the one who gives him an award 🥇. It was just western who always think African countries has no democracy or fair justice. If he really helped those people as all western television saying “ where are they? “ why no one person is testifying “. She said torture. If he was tortured would be he stand in court, they even handed him a computer 💻 to help him write and follow his case in easy way. Also in his case he wasn’t alone, they were many people some says they got order and money from him that helped them to attack Rwanda 🇷🇼, I’m not Rwandan but I hate seeing television publishing a lies and standing in one side and make other side look evil .
