First lock is U-lock from TESCO (300CZK) - 7 sec
Second one is best break lock I found ABUS Granit with alarm - 2:50sec to break it. Security level 18 (ABUS).

Three minutes is a very long time. I am pleased with the lock's performance.

This has given me confidence to buy an Abus granite disc lock

Unless the bike is super expensive, no thief is gonna risk taking this long and making this much noise to steal a motorcycle.

    Is it rainproof?

I have these on my motorbikes. It is comforting to see how difficult this was. I'm sorry you had to destroy such an expensive lock however.

Now try it again with the lock put on the other way with the angle part of lock inside the wheel less to access...

I dont like the design. It's almost like they wanted it to be possible to be cut open

So i see it was the right decision to buy an Abus Granit Detecto XPlus. You cant sit there and work 3 Minutes undetected with such noise.

I havenone of these 8077 disclock but it recently stopped locking. There are two bearings which have fallen out. Very annyoying and the lock is now junk unless i can fix it. Search for this locks problems especially if you let it fall on the floor then the bearings will fall out. So annoying 🤬🤬🤬. Abus dont care.

Any lock will be cut with a grinder. The question is just how long it would take. As stated in a previous comment, in this case, it is much easier to cut through the brake disk than the Abus Granit lock. That actually gives me a lot of confidence in the lock. The only thing more you can do is to get a grade 80 security chain and lock the bike through the chassis. The brake disk is easy to replace but if they cut through the Chasis they would only be able to sell the parts and not the whole bike so they are less likely. Of course, all of these are just deterrents to say the thieves go on steal the other bike on the block it is easier.

In daylight with a fully charged grinder. 3 mins, plenty of time to get there and break scum bags bones. I want one.

This is a very good lock. Not only it's nearly unpickable but its can't even be hammered and, most importantly, it resisted a cutter for 3 minutes. It's going to deter most theft attempts. I think it would be quicker for the to make two incisions into the disc rotor itself, which means this lock can't be better than it already is.

I have one of these and it's a great lock ,plus a peweg chain and lock with ground anchor which can not be bolt cut . I know anything can be grinded with a cutter but it all takes time and if you dont hear all that noise well ,Ill say no more .

The key (pardon the pun) to making this more successful is something like a Roadlok. Fit the Abus Disclock on the left disc and roll the bike forward so the disclock is difficult to access and cut as it is tucked up by the brake calliper. Put the bike on the side stand meaning the disclock has an added degree of difficulty being on the low side of the bike. Then engage a Roadlok to prevent the bike being moved forward to give better access to cut the disclock. The Roadlok weighs next to nothing. Admittedly, a big F Off chain would help too.

Will this fit the front disc brake to my Piaggio MP3 LT?

Thanks for proving how well this lock is made I’m buying one immediately. You’ll have to haul the bike off from the street then go to work on the lock in a shop. Only a idiot will take 3 minutes to grind a lock without being noticed or caught.

And if you combine this with the chain, it adds the connection link and increases the time to break it. I have both and gives me extra security!
