This ship was the first thing I bought after the core set. I used to play Star Wars Empire at war on PC so I already knew about it and was excited to see it in armada. I absolutely love this ship, it's one of my favorites to run even as a relatively new player. I would recommend it to anyone especially new players because of how versatile it is. I found that the versatility helped me develop strategies and find the play style that fit me best.

When you see your opponent brought an MC80 and a bunch of AFM2s you know it will soon be your turn to yell "We can't repel firepower of that magnitude."
Jack of all Trades, master of none. The Assault Frigate. I still think that you can put this ship in pretty much any list you can put together. I like this weird looking thing.
Would you be able to update some of your videos. There have been a lot more ships, upgrades, officers and commander. I'd be interested to see your take on this ship nowadays
Gallant Haven is nasty and can be offensive as well. Timing is key here, you can order your squadrons out against his ships and fighters then after the squadron orders are done, gallant haven moves and protects your squadrons from counter fire. It is nasty.
I really want to try a Gallant Haven with RLB, B-wings and Sato. Being able to change your dice to black, then having the B-wings deploy and hit the ship too... It seems like it could knock-out punch anything up to a ISD. All you need is a couple Z-95's or maybe A-wings to proceed the GH to the fight. But its also a LOT of points to put on one ship. As soon as I find someone who plays Armada in Hawaii I am going to give this a try. Am I reading the cards and the system wrong with the above?
No. The black dice can be at long range that way. When forming an attack pool based on your battery armament, you can only add dice at the appropriate range - but when it's a special ability that adds it directly to your pool then you get to do it regardless of range. Same goes with Sato as a commander.
I'm fond of this ship, but it's wrongly scaled surely? It almost dwarfs the seemingly under-scaled MC80,Fun ship to play though. Mk2 is tough as old boots however!
lyianx some people run "conga lines" where a bunch of ships deploy front-to-back to do gigantic broadside. These things have decently strong side arcs, while being pretty well-rounded so that they don't _have_ to broadside. I guess it might be worth bringing one or two as a contingency in case the conga line goes to pot.
I know what you mean, but it's a pretty solid ship regardless. One thing you may want to do - is when Wave 6 comes out... for a friendly game, put the Quasar ship model on the AFmk2 base, since they can both function as carriers, they may be similar.

When I first saw it I thought it was a Mon Cal ship. I like the look because it looks to me like a space dirigible.

it looks like a nebulon b in many regards, i think it doesn't look too out of place.
Gallant Haven w/ RLB paired with a Yavaris build w/ flght commander and fighter cord team could be a brutal squadron support team
It looks like the heavy destroyer from the halo fleet battles game by spartan games, it can be seen in the first halo wars video game
