Wonderful to get to use that soap Paul, so glad you have two. Companies caring for their employees like that is very rare now days, as well as making quality products that last for 66 years. Once again you have given us hope spring will eventually find us with your lovely flowers Mrs. H, we received five inches of heavy wet snow on Friday so we've been a bit down in the dumps. The tomatoes under the grow lights are starting to bloom so they need to be repotted. Tomorrow a friend of mine is running in the Boston Marathon so I'll be following his bib number and cheering him on, it's his third time running it so he has some knowledge of what to expect. Paul. Great shave. I absolutely think that those flowers are the best Mrs.H presented. You are so lucky!. Now, on to my comments. I always enjoy watching your videos, especially when you use open-comb razors. I took your recommendation the other day and did purchase The Original Phoenix DOC Safety Razor. Mine was nickel plated and the handle first looked very short being only 3 inches long. When I first look at DOC razor, I said "Holy crap, I am going to slice my throat". I chose to use a new BIC blade and the Barbershop soap by ShannonsSoaps. The BIC was a total failure. I was only able to shave about one inch because that blade was very painful and pulled the whiskers. I changed the blade to a Personna Red and I must say I was impressed with the shave that the DOC provided. I found that the short handle was an advantage because I took only short repeated strokes and treated the entire shaving experience like an oil painting! Thanks again Paul for recommending that razor.

Great shave today! And I loved the razor of choice...can’t beat the craftsmanship of yesteryear.
For my “Sunday drive”, I’ll be using my 1936 Gillette Aristocrat OCTTO loaded with a Nacet, Proraso (Red) w/matching splash and I’ll be using a new brush today from Mimik Badger. 20mm synthetic silver tip.

Those little red dots of claret are a perfect accompaniment for the majestic colors Mrs H arranged today😁 I have that razor in the "short" comb, came in a little red/black leather case. Haven't used it though. I remember Lever Bros. products here in the states, can't remember though when they disappeared. That soap stick really lathered up, nothing wrong with that 60+ year old soap. Hey Paul I just bought a Gillette NEW Short Comb replated in a mirror nickel finish! I had a long comb and a short calm and they were in pretty good condition but it being so old I always had a problem with the patina so I sold both of them and always kept my eye out for a one that was replated. CANT WAIT!!!

Another great shave Paul, just shows how impressive things were made back in the day. I'm currently still in Spain, just a wee week break, and one of my travel soaps is Razorock Emperor, and the matching cologne is Copycat Executive. Can't complain whatsoever, does the trick at a fraction of the price. Very good quality, the amount of attention it grabs is unbelievable. I would hope to join you and the other nationwide guys at the next meet up, all the way from sunny Glasgow, will see how that pans out, haha. Take care 👍🏻

Lucky man, you! Yr Mrs H arranging such flower bouquets, this one is most outstanding. Agree soaps n razors dated b4 WW2 n postwar are of outstanding quality. Finding myself more n more using such vintage equipment, its just so much easy fun with best results. Cheers fm the lion city.

I remember Lever Bros hand soap here in America, same color green. For a vintage soap (or any, for that matter), that soap lathered up lovely. I always anticipate MrsH's beautiful arrangements.

Great video Paul I had a look on eBay for one of those Gillette new and saw a couple at £22.99 but the postage was expensive looks a very nice razor, I will take a gander at A.R. Aftershaves and try a sample and I will keep my eye out for one of those easy shave sticks looks a great shave soap take care and have a great Sunday 😀

You tearing the foil, tears are running down my cheeks... every seconds you apply it to your face, more tears... but jokes aside, for a soap this old, man it is gorgeous. I do have a 1960 Williams that is new in box and doesn't look anywhere this good and the scent is gone... beautiful find!

Great shave Paul! Unbelievable good condition that soap package. Soap too 😉 thought it is new... To be honest, the Palmolive sticks which you buy these days are not in that condition. But who knows since when they are standing in the stores. Maybe longer 😁

Is This Razor similar to Merkur 25c?
Perhaps, you could find a small, locally owned pharmacy or barbershop that would agree to allow to you use their location as a staging ground for the potential meet up. If you could find one that had a small section that featured shaving, facials and etc--it would be a great bit of free advertising for the shop and experience for the participants...Just an idea.

While there are no ethical issues when it comes to 'clone' scents, the aftershave featured has a name very close to Stirling Soap Company's Aventus-like, 'Executive Man'.
The pheonix after shave and cologne fragrances last all day just a heads up.
I can confirm that, I have there CAD, great scent and lasted all day :-)

You really don't have to spend much to get real quality soaps.
