say what you want about the entire show, but you have to admit for an almost 50 year old man, John Cho put everything he possibly could into playing Spike Spiegel physically. (also, what’s crazier is that he actually tore his knee doing a stunt).
I don't care about the criticism.. this was one of the very first anime's I watched.. and a live action adaptation along with John chow being spike it's pretty good.. but opinions are opinions.
The choreography is good but the main problem is the Camera work/editing (their are some weird angles that they choose) and the speed of the fights. You can tell the performers put in the work for the fight scenes but I think they needed more time to get their moves down better.
Oh~ I noticed that during ONE a fighting scene the mimic THE VERY SAME music in the anime. Spike vs. Asimov from episode one. 2:08 Listen carefully and rewatch episode one of the anime Cowboy Bebop. The match perfectly~
So he would also look nothing like the character as well as be a bad stiff actor? I mean Spike’s entire look was modeled after Yusaku Matsuda. So why would they get a Caucasian person to play him?
John Cho just didn’t have the athletic ability for these fights. The editing and choreography is solid but he’s too stiff. I honestly think Spike’s fights are the only part of this show that deserves the criticism. The rest of the show was decent and the actors portrayed the characters personalities competently and had charisma. Still better than iron fist

There is some fine cinematography (especially the one-take flashback) here, good style and great moves and its obvious John Cho really put a lot of effort into the role... but there is something off about the editing, like it needed to be a bit snappier and less choppy. There are many instances where they conclude a move, freeze for half a second, then do the next one. I get that these are real humans as opposed to animated characters and humans have limitations but isn't editing there to work around these limitations?
Its sad they canceled season 2. The anime is my favorite of all time and i think it was actually a pretty solid live action adaptation despite ed and all of the milf scenes lol. Leave it to another toxic fanbase to ruin another decent project
Honestly, I liked the show. It was different from the original, which is what I hoped for. If it was a repeat of the original, there would have been no points in it existing in the first place. Also, might be a unpopular opinion, but I like the interaction between the main cast better in the adaptation. Like that scene where they're talking about New Tijuana or when Spike and Faye are looking for a bounty to go after. Or that scene where Spike projects his own feelings onto Jet and asks if he would have wanted to put in a bullet in the guy that took his wife. There were some really good things about that show and it's a shame it was discontinued.
7:06-8:26 has the best fight scene in this show. The cinematography looks damn good. It’s paced well. And there is no funk music as well. It has a little bit of a gritty guitar sound, which I absolutely love. I think all of the fight scenes look good, but I wish the music was better instead of the funk music. It doesn’t work for this show. (That’s my opinion)
Messy Live Action, didn't really like it but that's not the actors fault. They really did their best. John Cho be looking fine af in this though. 👀 Had to rewind that wing chun dummy scene a few times. 💋
I don't understand why people hated this series, add its mistakes, but if they would have allowed for season 2 to happen, season 2 would have made up for all the mistakes that the first season made season 2 would have been it's redemption and trust me, they would have fixed everything they ruined and the show would have ended up better than it already was. Ok, I had a lot of differences, had a lot of things that were definitely not related to the series or things that were changed, but it was still fun to watch And I'm still pissed off at the people who are mad at Daniela pean, Ada, because she didn't look exactly like fame, people were just mad because they didn't have a live action version of faye to jerk off to. However, her humor was perfect. Season 2, we would have seen her dramatic side, which would have given her more respect or admiration. As an actress and more as a person.. I also feel bad about the electric who is gonna play, Edward, she only got to play Edward and the ending of the season finale and was never able to be Edward ever again, and she had potential she had all the qualifications to be Edward, the humor, the behavior that hyper that crazy, hyper goofy behavior, yet still be a super genius. We never got to see any of that, because the majority were unsatisfied weaboos who wanted the series to be exactly like the anime when this is for general audience, for people who has seen the enemy, or I've never seen the anime at all. if you have a problem that it's not accurate to the anime, then just watch the anime, if you like the live action, watch the live action if you love both like I do go for it
It was so painful how bad a job the writers did of keeping a consistent tone. It was jarring and it's too bad because the cast and performances were pretty great.

EVen thou their were some problems with the tv show i still loved the action scenes even more the anime, this would have been a really good anime adaptation if it weren't for the problems, especially that song that plays in the background is possibly my favorite cowboy bebop song ever made and im glad they made it because its just so awesome!!!!!!!!!
hard to believe this is the guy from American Pie and Harold and Kumar
Sucks that they canceled it i was looking forward to season 2
Same
Agreed
@@Mercurystars4202 facts they did this with marco polo I never gave the show chance and when I finally did I loved it and found out it was canceled I know not many people liked it but I really enjoyed it oh well🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Netflix shill
Can you make please a video about all characters from Assassination Classroom (anime). In special Korosensei, Toka Yada, Rio Nakamura, Kaede Kayano and Yukiko Kanzaki please.
Haven't seen this yet but i like what i have been see on here its a comedy with humour not to be taken seriously i like the vibe its going with
say what you want about the entire show, but you have to admit for an almost 50 year old man, John Cho put everything he possibly could into playing Spike Spiegel physically. (also, what’s crazier is that he actually tore his knee doing a stunt).
I don't care about the criticism.. this was one of the very first anime's I watched.. and a live action adaptation along with John chow being spike it's pretty good.. but opinions are opinions.
I'll give this show one thing. John Cho got in pretty damn good shape despite being nearly 50 years old when filming this.
The episode with Pierrot Le Fou was really the only thing that upset me. That was my favorite episode and it felt rushed, but everything else I liked.
The choreography is good but the main problem is the Camera work/editing (their are some weird angles that they choose) and the speed of the fights. You can tell the performers put in the work for the fight scenes but I think they needed more time to get their moves down better.
Funny..of course we all may be disappointed at the show as whole.. but admit it.. you watched this video and could not look away lol.
That church fight is phenomenal!
Oh~ I noticed that during ONE a fighting scene the mimic THE VERY SAME music in the anime.
Spike vs. Asimov from episode one.
2:08
Listen carefully and rewatch episode one of the anime Cowboy Bebop. The match perfectly~
I wish they had a time machine and use a young Keeanu Reeves
So he would also look nothing like the character as well as be a bad stiff actor? I mean Spike’s entire look was modeled after Yusaku Matsuda. So why would they get a Caucasian person to play him?
John Cho was a good choice for Spike, but the action is still bleh. Would love to see Corridor break this down during a "Stuntmen React"
if John Cho was "shudders" a good choice then they should have canceled the movie from the very beginning. 😬
I love this, I’m not sorry. I recognize it’s not hitting certain standards ❤😅
I thought it all looked good until I saw what they did to my boy teddy bomber.
Nice.
1:16 this is interesting 7:48 music
4:00 4:35 5:20 that black guy chase after the dog episode
6:06 8:28 this guy vs spike on the ending
6:41 this guy the fat one is scared of cats
There is some fine cinematography (especially the one-take flashback) here, good style and great moves and its obvious John Cho really put a lot of effort into the role... but there is something off about the editing, like it needed to be a bit snappier and less choppy. There are many instances where they conclude a move, freeze for half a second, then do the next one. I get that these are real humans as opposed to animated characters and humans have limitations but isn't editing there to work around these limitations?
Spike is master of winchun 😅
Actually he is a practitioner of Jeet Kun Do
NGL personally although i appreciate everything the actors did I think that the anime is better
Netflix stop it, get some help
I get it now. This isn’t trying to be cowboy bebop, it’s trying to be John Wick
its like watching my grandpa aptenting to swing a punch, and hes dead!
Good ridence this was nuked.
Its sad they canceled season 2. The anime is my favorite of all time and i think it was actually a pretty solid live action adaptation despite ed and all of the milf scenes lol. Leave it to another toxic fanbase to ruin another decent project
i am so glad they ended this disaster holy..
If this was meant to be its own thing i think id like it a lot more
I can’t get over how viscous looks like Lucious Malfoy lolol 😂
The fighting is slow. To slow. They could’ve fast forwarded it.
Fuckin John chow as spike. Idc as a long time Bebop fan this was an awesome casting for me.
Brandon Lee ~1993 would been perfect for spiegel
Messy Live Action, didn't really like it but that's not the actors fault. They really did their best.
John Cho be looking fine af in this though. 👀 Had to rewind that wing chun dummy scene a few times. 💋
i love net rush. its a great rendition
Can you make please a video about Thena from The Eternals
how the mess this show up? like really..
the fighting looks like a jacky chan spoof
Can you please make a video about all powers of Infinity Ultron from What If?
So slow and so corny. Netflix should have hired the same guys from Daredevil
That’s not Spike
I don't understand why people hated this series, add its mistakes, but if they would have allowed for season 2 to happen, season 2 would have made up for all the mistakes that the first season made season 2 would have been it's redemption and trust me, they would have fixed everything they ruined and the show would have ended up better than it already was. Ok, I had a lot of differences, had a lot of things that were definitely not related to the series or things that were changed, but it was still fun to watch
And I'm still pissed off at the people who are mad at Daniela pean, Ada, because she didn't look exactly like fame, people were just mad because they didn't have a live action version of faye to jerk off to.
We never got to see any of that, because the majority were unsatisfied weaboos who wanted the series to be exactly like the anime when this is for general audience, for people who has seen the enemy, or I've never seen the anime at all.
if you have a problem that it's not accurate to the anime, then just watch the anime, if you like the live action, watch the live action if you love both like I do go for it
Rooftop fight was fire
Can you do a powers review for the movie 'Higher Power'?
Enjoyed the video by the way 😊
WHAT no Andy! Cant have the teddy bear bomber without Andy thats just wrong.
It was so painful how bad a job the writers did of keeping a consistent tone. It was jarring and it's too bad because the cast and performances were pretty great.
Harold after White Castle going brazy
Why do the fights feel slowed down?
How did anyone look at John Cho and think he was Spike? I like him but hes too old, too serious, and clearly never learned martial arts before
It’s missing the uniqueness of spikes fighting
