  • In this first part of the summer trip to Northern Saskatchewan, I'm exploring the areas of Montreal Lake, Montreal River near Weyakwin and Town of La Ronge.
    This area is filled with the beautiful rivers and creeks, dense boreal forest, and huge lakes. Northern Saskatchewan offers great fishing and camping experience.

    Many inlaws of mine live up that way. They're phillipino , they first came to that area because they were encouraged to by the government. I took a trip up there one year and loved the area in summertime. Lots of bugs tho. Prince Albert and North is lovely country. I would also recommend Waskasue national park on that highway.

    that was so enjoyable..even though ive been on that road since childhood..next time drive up to my reservation Southend Saskatchewan on Reindeer Lake..it is 200 km north from laronge..and maybe have a boat ride to my other reservation Kinoosao which is 90 miles north by boat from southend..great boat trip with shorelunch along the way and fishing ofcourse..

      Glad you enjoyed it! Yes Northern Saskatchewan is very beautiful. No matter how many times you drive up this highway, it never gets boring.
      The drive to Southend would be amazing, the farthest north I've been is to Missinipe which I covered in the next part of this video. I'd love to drive to the end of the road to Stony Rapids one day. Your boat trip sounds amazing.
      I wish there was more development in the north or at least paved roads connecting the communities.

    Really good video. Music , narration, video quality and information are all well done. It makes me want to go there. I would have liked a few more personal views of stuff. eg. camping or canoeing or whatever you did for relaxing.

    Next year drive to Stoney Rapids. Dozens of lakes along 905, take your tent and small boat or canoe.

      Yes, that is on my list. Stay tuned for the next episode this coming week. We did camping, fishing and boating but didn't have enough time for Canoeing this time.
      Highway 905 is truly amazing and one of the most beautiful highways in Saskatchewan.

    Saskatchewan is Canada's hidden Gem! I found that out wen I moved here from Alberta 11 years ago

    • @NasKhan

      Indeed it is! SK has got the wrong reputation of being the boring flatland.

    • @NasKhan

      Yes I agree that La Ronge has got drug and alcohol problems. I've been to La Ronge a lot of times ( mostly for work) and have been aware of this issue. I just don't want to spread negativity in my videos. The place is beautiful. Also, if you follow the journey into the next video, I moved on to Missinipe. My stay in La Ronge was just for a couple of hours and I was not bothered by anyone during that time.

    • @NasKhan
      @NasKhan  Год назад +2

      There's a lot of misconception about SK. Most people call it flatland or boring prairieland but they've actually never been to SK or at most just drove through it on Trans-Canada.
