A saree has been a woman’s best friend whether she is sweating it out in the kitchen, or handling a situation at work with poise and grace or keeping herself fit, as she did recently, at the Pune Saree Run. About 5400 women turned up adorning exquisite weaves and embellished splendours to take the streets of Pune for a Sunday morning run.
The saree run is a powerful statement for women across the country as it breaks the stereotype around the limitations of saree as a garment and the misplaced association with conservatism. On the contrary, the event is a celebration of the six yards in all its glory and promotes it as a liberating choice- sartorial, bold and uninhibited as well as graceful, inheritable and traditional as one wants it to be.
Taneira, through its exquisite range of sarees from weaving clusters across the country, embraces the magnificence of womanhood and feminity by celebrating women from all walks of life; those that wear it for fashion and also the ones who wear it for tradition, the ones who step outside of their homes to make a living and those that stay within to nurture a life, the ones who live without a label and the ones who rejoice the very essence of being a woman.
