    Thank you so much! I've been searching for a tutorial that doesn't use screws. If I'm going to use bison hide instead of mule wrap do I need to do anything differently?

    What should be done with the loose tail to finish it off?

      Hello!
      The end should be tucked back through the slit above the gullet as shown in the video. This allows you to tighten the wrap as normal pressure stretches it

    Which side of the mule wrap is up when wrapping?
    Thanks.

      Hello!
      The rough out side should be to the outside when wrapping the horn

    Great video. How do you do a latigo horn wrap differently if at all?

    • @BigBendSaddlery
      @BigBendSaddlery  7 лет назад +2

      Great question! A latigo horn wrap is a little different. Instead of dipping in water, you would take your horn wrap and spray both sides with liquid saddle soap. Let it soak in for about 10 minutes and repeat 1 to 2 times. After the last application of liquid saddle soap, allow the horn wrap to sit for half an hour. From here on the horn wrapping procedure is the same!
      Liquid Saddle Soap is available here: www.bigbendsaddlery.com/leatherc.html

    What size is the punch size you use for the hole?

    • @BigBendSaddlery
      @BigBendSaddlery  5 лет назад +1

      We used a 7/8" punch in this video, but anything between 3/4" and 1" will work.

    Excellent video, except for the sound. You've probably figured that out by now! (5 yrs later haha)

    What if you just tie it to the stump/tie off all the time do you need one?

    • @BigBendSaddlery
      @BigBendSaddlery  6 лет назад +1

      No you wouldn’t need a mulehide horn wrap if you tie off. You might want to use a braided nylon saddle horn knot just to protect your saddle horn from the wear of the rope.
