Hey Kevin. Came across your channel recently and subscribed immediately. Really appreciate the presentation style, and unlike most other travel "review" channels, you don't feel the need to have your face in the video 90% of the time. Some very minor suggestions: - A little more detail on the F&B options. A quick pan of closed steam trays doesn't really show what is on offer :). Doesn't need to be a full menu breakdown, but maybe mention what looked good/bad, etc. - Transportation details. You do this for some properties, but I think for consistency it would be helpful to viewers for travel arrangements to/from each property. e.g. "It's a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport" or "The property offers free/fee shuttle service". This would be especially helpful for viewers searching on specific properties instead of frequent viewers. Anyway, keep up the great work!
Thank you for the great points. I agree about the food details and the content that I’m filming now/filmed most recent is a bit more food centric. Trying to get ‘caught up’ with posting now so the delay from when I film until I post is shorter (and therefore changes can happen quicker). Well noted about the transport details as well. Thanks very much for taking the time to write it and subscribing 🙏🏻
I think the Grand Central on the oppositte corner of the block has slightly larger rooms (we managed to fit a small child in a cot within the floor space at least). I loved the Hudson, but the room size there was an issue (not enough room for a small child who, at that point, was still residing in my wife) so i think this one might be off the list, especially at that price (and the small child is now considerably larger so needs more room!)
I was in BCN last year and somewhat bumped I didnt fork out to try the Edition and decided to stay at a SLH Hotel Claris instead. But watching this review and that tiny room, I didnt miss much :). Thanks for the video.
Completely agree. I was supposed to do Japan last month actually but they didn’t reopen in time so I did Bali instead (Bali content starts the 27th of this month). Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻
Hi Kevin, thanks for your review. I have this property booked for September for my first trip into Barcelona, as well as the Almanac (saw your review on that as well), both booked via FHR for one night each ($200 FHR credit for each). Kind of expected the tiny room but couldn't pass up an opportunity to stay in an Edition hotel for the cheap. At least the free breakfast and property credit (most likely spending it on dinner) will make it more worthwhile. This booking is linked to my Marriott account which I am Platinum Elite in. Don't think Edition hotels care for status (and a Platinum at that) but here's hoping I can score an upgrade!
My experience with Marriott properties of all brands are that they favor FHR upgrades over gold/platinum upgrades… that said, I wasn’t upgraded and even during off season the hotel was booked. Wish you the best of luck to snag one! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft So lucky me, managed to get an upgrade here... to the top floor terrace room! Their two huge penthouse suites were vacant for my stay but I guess they didn't want to give me a 5-6k CAD/night room 🥲. I ended up using my FHR credit on brunch at Bar Veraz (pretty good), and dinner at The Roof. The food at The Roof was an absolute joke. They should be embarrassed to be serving that. Breakfast was indeed great. Overall enjoyed my stay, and wouldn't mind coming back if booked via FHR with the $200 plat credit used again.
No 'super-'s - and a 'teeny tiny' wasn't nearly enough by way of substitution. Food looked good. I'd consider staying here but not at anything like the $400 price-point. Good review. You've got your hotel and flight reports nailed.
I hate that in most modern hotels in bcn i cannot open the windows (regulations). I stayed at Edition, and left next night coz felt like aquarium and air was terribly stuffy
‘Value’ and Barcelona rarely go together these days but the Almanac Hotel on my channel was certainly cheaper when I stayed there. I also enjoyed the Gallery Hotel which I stayed at previously before this channel. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
It seems like marriott has had a lot of luck selling the edition to franchisees lately so I imagine we’re going to see a lot more - and to be fair, why would you build out a new ritz property when you could go with edition and still get Marriott’s distribution network. I do really like their properties in Bodrum and Riviera Maya. The bodrum property is one of my best stays of all time, despite being lightly accused of being a spy for talking about the AKP and Goulenists a little too much.
You are cute and your attitude is fine, and the report is ok🤽🏻♂️but Poor breakfast review: The presence of Eggs Benedict on the menu cannot be seen in the photo of your breakfast menu. In addition, you did not explain what you get except for the two dishes you chose. Are there any breads? spreads? Cheeses? Anything else added? Buffet? What about drinks: hot drink, fruit drink?? How is the service? How is the atmosphere at breakfast? Is it possible to have breakfast in the room? There is an additional payment if you want another little thing to eat? Is it not generous breakfast as it seen? There is no scope experience here
Did you not actually watch the video? Breakfast is exaclty as I stated in the review. You pick one hot dish and one cold dish from the menu. My hot dish, Eggs Royale I had them sub salmon for ham so it became eggs benedict. If you are so curious about their breakfast, of all things, I suggest you go and try it for yourself. Thanks for watching 🩴

Oh I’d never come here as more than a couple! Thanks for watching 🩴

Yes, quite literally, you didn’t miss much 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
THANKS FOR SHARING GREAT VIDEO VERY INFORMATIVE👍🏿
Thanks for watching 🩴
If the rooms were 50% larger it would be an ideal hotel. Beautiful. Have you done Japan yet? The rooms there are even smaller. Pack light! Haha

That upgrade surely a benefit of shoulder season 😂 Glad you enjoyed your trip!

Next time I have a small room I’ll go for “itsy bitsy” 😂 Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻

What better value hotels would you recommend?
‘Value’ and Barcelona rarely go together these days but the Almanac Hotel on my channel was certainly cheaper when I stayed there. I also enjoyed the Gallery Hotel which I stayed at previously before this channel. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
fabuloso
Gracias

RC Revenue, Sheraton Expenditure. Perfect Bonvoy combo.
Wonder how much that half bottle of Krug costs?
Not as expensive as I would have imagined, to be honest. 99€++ Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
that view is absolutely nasty for a room at that price.
I mean, they can't knock down all of the surrounding buildings lol
