  • Hi!
One of my the things on my travel bucket list was to see elephants in Asia. My only catch was I wanted to do it ethically which made it WAY more difficult than you can imagine.
    We eventually found a place!
Bukit Elephant Park in Phuket, Thailand rescues Thai elephants from the circus. They provide them with space similar to what they would receive in the wild but without the danger. Each elephant is assigned a caretaker who helps them find food and stay healthy as they're so reliant on humans from being directed in the circus for majority of their lives. A tour guide took a small group of us through the whole walk telling us facts about the elephants and answering everyone's questions. You were only able to get close to the elephants with the caretaker's presence and consent once the animals were comfy.
Best experience! It was unreal. I am so glad I got so much of it on video and am able to share it to look back on.
