Content here is for educational purposes from my personal journey with the Carnivore Diet. It's not medical advice. I’m not a medical professional. Consult with a healthcare provider for diet or health changes. Information is based on my views and for discussion and learning.
The best part about carnivore is you no longer fear aging. It's like the fountain of youth that we've all been looking for our whole lives
I was in Health Care (I call it Sick Care) for 30 years and it was so awful watching the patients receive 20+ pills before breakfast. After my own weight loss of 70 pounds on Keto, I was reprimanded for discussing low/no carb with patients. My motto is "Let food be thy medicine". Thank you for all you do.
In a normal just world, reprimanding someone for trying to actually impart health knowledge, would be the crime!
That's because 90% carbs diet is all they feed the patients. It's cheap and filling. I saw that with my mother in a nursing home; she didn't want carbs, just vegetables and meat, but they wouldn't give her enough, so sometimes her neighbor would give her her vegetables because she knew my mom doesn't eat carbs. I'm worried that if I have to go to a nursing home, I won't get enough to eat either. They really do not cater to anyone's specific diet.
69 year old female here. I've tried to keep carbs low for years but keep falling off. I am taking 30 different meds: type 2 diabetic, IBS, sarcoidosis (an inflammatory lung disease), asthma, CPAP user, high blood pressure, and arthritis. I just realized I might be able to reduce or reverse some of these illnesses by going strict carnivore. I am very addicted to carbs. Thank you both!
Yes you can. I encourage you to give it a try. I'm 66 and don't take meds at all. Feel great since carnivore.
Omg, I feel so bad for you. I'm 62 5'4 120lbs. I've been doing almost strict cornivore for about seven months. I didn't do it for weight loss but other issues. I did go from 128 to 114lbs very quickly and hated it because I looked too thin. If you need to lose weight it's definitely the way to go. I simply eat meat and fat until I'm satisfied. If I feel the urge to snack I just eat more meat and fat. I can't eat dairy of any kind not even butter, because it makes me gain weight and I don't feel well when I do. Two days ago I rode my bicycle 14 miles, had to stop because it was dark. I lift weights, rock climb, play tennis, roller blade, and on and on. I don't take any medicine and can out lift my 27 year old daughter and her friends in the gym. I've always been fit and active but the carnivore diet just kinda fine tuned things. Give it a try because you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Best regards
If you just give CD a try, you can be prepared to toss so many Almond flour keto type ingredients from your house. After just a few days on CD, I go to the store, buy some meat eggs, bacon and maybe some butter and leave. Simple cooking, satiating meals, and you'll feel even better IMO than you ever felt on keto. Give it a try and aim for 30 days and carbs will likely seem nauseating to you. If you can do 3-4 weeks, you can continue long term. Good luck.
It starts at the grocery store. Just don't buy the anything except meats, eggs, and maybe dairy depending on your tolerances to them. Start with fatty meat, cook it in butter and eat until you're full. Find other things to occupy your mind. Based on all your conditions, I'd also recommend starting some exercise, weight lifting and walking. If you can't get to those yet, start with the diet first and see how you go! Best of luck.
72 here. Off statins, anti-depressants ,and asthma inhaler. No longer pre-diabetic. Started walking and , stopped snoring ( so my grandson tells me). My aches and pains have eased, and I've lost 14kg. Want to be able to ditch BP meds .It's not easy because I'm a hard-core carb addict. Get into it kiddo.
You've nailed it here about moderation. I think keto is actually harder than any diet out there because it teases you. Way easier doing strict carnivore
I absolutely agree, and when people are doing keto, it keeps you yearning for carbohydrates and sweets, because that diet allows you to have small amounts of both. It's a small step over the line to become carnivore, but it's so much easier to monitor and there are no more cravings.
Instantly perked up on your comment! Meat or cheat. Choose wisely.😎
I agree as well. 85% of Keto videos were either suggestions of food choices consisting of processed "keto" type snacks as well as thousands of recipes for desserts. Instead of looking for keto breads, cookies, and cakes, and other carby foods I missed, I so prefer to simply cook some meat and/or eggs, with our without some veggies. Its so simple and any CD cravings I may get are nothing compared to keto cravings.
I agree too that carnivore is easier than keto because it does tease you with all the sugar substitutes and nut flours etc. I have difficulty going all carnivore because my husband has Alzheimers and I can’t get him to give up all his carbs(1-2 beers everyday too). He does seem better when I cut the carbs for him. It’s hard having two ways of eating in the house. So happy for you in your new life. You definitely are an inspiration! Keep up the great work!
I am a retired nurse supervisor…the first few years at a long term facility, I became despondent with all the sick, dependent elderly residents. I felt that that was my lot in life. However , I calculated in my mind that these people were only 1 percent of the population…I started working on changing my outlook…missing being outside…I started eating “healthy”. Fruits veggies very low fat meat…til my health worsened with arthritis, pain, knee replacement, thyroid goiter, falling.the more I tried to get back to active lifestyle, the more I faltered. Now no HTN meds or CRESTOR, much decreased inflammation, increased ability to move about without pain.
oi oiiiii, im a brit lol and just love to see another Brit carnivore 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
It's kind of interesting that you have a 43 year old, a 65 year old and here I am in between at 55 year old. Yet we all seem to share a similar outlook on things, and attitude. Remembering how I was as a teen, always getting upset and slipping up when talking to others, and now I can talk to anyone and feel more confident. Plus look at how we have less grey hairs than others! It is going to be interesting to see what kind of results Kerry will get from his medical tests. Alex, great interview!
Great Livestream today with Alex!! Thank you Kerry for all your time and energy that you devote to the Carnivore Community/Family!! Your positive attitude and energy is magnetic!!! ❤️😊👍🏼💪🏼
***GREAT INTERVIEW!!! Kerry, your passion for this way of eating is just awesome! Thank you so much for all you do! I've been overweight for over 40 years and and doing great on #Carnivore thanks to you and all the other great people who have found this way to eat & live! God bless you all!!!!
Kerry, are you o.k??
You're looking like you need sleep. Please take care of yourself you have helped so many people including myself. I only wish that I would have known about the carnivore diet when I was in my thirties😊
I too had an irregular heart beat. I increased my potassium and the irregularities went away….go figure!
Good afternoon , so nice to see you, even though I missed the live..New Zealand 🇳🇿 here.
It's great to hear you got over all those problems. I have the same problems, im not too bad now since carnivore but my hart rate is still all over the place, I look forward to getting back in shape
Kerry your life changed completely in the last 170days!!! It’s surreal . Including your own life , drive , goals and projects ahead ! Amazing Kerry!
You nailed when you said it's an elimination diet rather than just a carnivore diet. Good work and good luck with documentary.👍🙏👍
I am so excited for this! I am going to watch it later once I am done working! 🙏
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KERRY 🎉🎉🎉
That’s amazing kerry! I struggle with severe anxiety and I would like to go carnivore instead of keto. Alex looks 40!
So you're on to six months very soon.
I started 5 days ago. So far, the improvements have been juuuuust a little more energy, but I am still really tired (sleep apnea and completely fried sleep circuits in my brain), and also the floaters in my eyes are gone.
I only had detectable cravings the first two days, and after that, the old habits reminded me for a day or two, but now they seem to be gone.
I'm only doing beef, fish, eggs, bacon and butter so far. I use a LOT of butter and I use pink Himalaya salt in my water and on the food. Ketone levels have risen from 0.5 to 1.8 mmol/L in five days. 💪💪
I loved this video Alex and Kerry! Great questions! I have told a couple docs and one of them was not a fan, and basically recommended eating fruit. 😊 The other doc is an amazing functional med doc and she was fine knowing I ate extremely low carb. I will see how she reacts to carnivore when I see her again.
OK, Alex looks younger than my dad, who will be 63 in December! It's so fascinating to me how nearly every carnivore I see looks younger than others their age. I'm only 34 (will be 35 in December) but am noticing any fine lines I had are nearly gone. So many people I went to school with have SO many deep wrinkles already. It's not normal!
Just wanted to mention that, for your bloodwork on Thursday, make sure you aren’t dehydrated as it skews the results.
Our own research is so important so that we can find that perspective that resonates with you!
Great job chaps. Kerry & Alex you're both welcome here in Bewdley. Lovely forest and River Severn.
Happy Birthday Kerry, been following you , so happy I found you on utube, today im at day 110, im shrinking every day, so excited about the future, keep your videos coming, thank you for all the good information 😊❤️🙏🍀
Oh, I missed this Live! *KERRY, I'm so glad you mentioned your irregular heartbeat. I just screen recorded that question and answer about your heart so that I can send it to my friend who has the same problem. He's practically vegetarian but still eats meat but not fatty meat and not often enough.*
*Please pray for my friend.* 🙏🏽 *He lives in Spain so I can't be there for him in person.* 😢
Happy birthday Kerry 👍! Alex you don’t look 65! My Birthday was yesterday 71!
I just started watching the video, and I simply must apologize for missing your first live. I feel horrible about it. I just was pulled in too many different directions to make it. But I’m super excited to be watching it now.
Thank goodness for replay. Wonderful interview, talk. Thank you to you both.
Glad you enjoyed it! ALEX is the BEST
Happy Birthday to you both. Great video
Congratulations on your first video! You did a great job!
Happy birthday to you both!!!!
Good interview thank you
You might be hungry because of the season. Every animal is putting on fat for winter.
God bless
I would tell people! 🤣🤣 "You should do carnivore! You need to do carnivore!" I want to tell everyone! 😂
This is one of the best carnivore on carnivore interviews I've seen so far today. 😂 Even though it's the only one. Good info guys.
Widnes railway station where Paul Simon wrote Homeward Bound.
Really sorry I missed this. I was still at School.
Really enjoyed the interview with Alex!
Happy Birthday 🎂
Great job Alex!!! I'm all in! 🥰
That's exactly the way I've been, I hit my goal weight and actually started seeing abs and now I can quit eating. I've only gained back about 4 or 5 lb but I can't even envision fasting like I was before
Great job Alex! You will be a natural in a few weeks!
Thanks guys.
Before carnivore, even on paleo, I could overeat nuts, fruit, and the like.
Yep. I could eat a week's worth of walnuts, pecans, and almonds in one sitting, and then follow that up with a bucket of Greek yogurt with a ton of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
That food might be healthy for someone that can control their appetite, but that's not me. I'd eat that food and then still want a steak. Only eating meat allows me to actually feel satiated, and truly know when I've eaten enough.
@@mackerelgainz541yeah I had the same problem. I could buy a one pound can of nuts and it would be gone the next day.
Great interview
Happy Happy Birthday Kerry. ❤
Carnivore healed my HBP, pre-diabetes, Chronic headaches (hemi-crainiun continua), fragile capillaries, heart murmur is no longer detectable and my eyesight improved from -2.75 to -1.25, oh ya, I weigh over 100 lbs less than my highest weight and changed my wardrobe. 😊 What’s A Day Without Beef 🥩?
Kerry, one thing I've learned about Keto and even Ketovore is that abstainers or people who are really metabolically sick with hyperinsulinemia (and maybe other hidden issues) cannot do it. The weight just does not come off at all or you end up yo-yoing like you mentioned. I can regulate what I eat, but I've been horribly metabolically sick for 14 years and it's been tough getting even carnivore results. I'm 30 days in with ZERO improvement on 80/20 - and I mean zero. Not about weight (maybe 30lb over). Still tired, brain fog, joint pain, inflammation. The only two things that are better are my hair (slower fall) and no more IBS.
I'm trying a fat fast this week (don't want to calorie deficit), so very little protein, maybe 60-70 grams and the rest fat to 1800-2000 cal. I've been in fight/flight for so long and my metabolism is almost nil, thus not wanting to deficit eat. The struggle continues but I won't stop. I'm committed to this way of eating for life no mater the outcome.
I have a *LOT* of health issues and I ate strict keto for 7 years with only moderate improvement. It took a full 3 months on carnivore (and it require me to quit dairy too) to see improvement in my symptoms. I’m at 8 months now and the improvements are beginning to truly add up!!! Weight loss is still slow but the decrease in pain and other inflammatory symptoms is *SO* worth it!!
@@rochellestark9767 I just dropped dairy as well, about 30 days ago. I was what some would call dirty carnivore; heavy cream, cheese, spices. I've dropped the spices as well in desperation. I was aware it would take about 90 days, but Its tough not seeing a single positive improvement in the first 30.
@@rochellestark9767But what a testimony you’ll have when your weight DOES start to normalize once your body has experienced enough healing and knows it’s being consistently nourished . Your story WILL resonate with many who were in the same state of health that you were. Keep at it because what else would you do? Go back to the SAD way of eating? Nah. PHD is the way to go. Don’t add anything else back in till the healing is further down the road.
Proverbs 23:23 KJV
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
My wife is on 25 meds and none are for side effects. I'm trying to get her to do something like carnivore but she isn't convinced, even watching me get better isn't do it.
What are you thoughts on the cholesterol increase issue? Grateful for your views.
Hey guys!
I'm 3.5 months in and still haven't seen/experienced any changes.
What are u eating?
Hi Kerry.
You are looking a little tired.
Just because you have more energy on the diet doesn't mean you shouldn't rest.
Biblically you are to rest one day in seven.
And take a nap every once in a while.
Working all day is a modern invention.
Necessary for harvesting plants.
Carnivores rest.
God bless
24:16 that’s beautiful man. ❤
Morning!
The elimination perspective is the winner…worked with mydoc
You talk too much man
Another fantastic video! Thanks guys. Alex looks like he's in his 30s. Dr Ken Berry definitely helped save my life also. I've been carnivore for 9 months, and I've never felt better physically and mentally. 👍
