This is a deal breaker for me. I do a lot of international travel, that's the dumbest thing Apple could have done to US customers who travel outside the country. No iphone 14 for me.

I guess the iPhone 13 Pro Will be my last iPhone. I like moving my Sim between phones and knowing that I have ownership of my phone and Sim. If my phone is damaged I can remove my Sim and put it in my back up phone can’t do that with the new iPhone.
providers will quickly adapt to survive, no way they are going to not support the full suite of Apple products. Apple has way too much clout here, they lead the way and others follow.
If they cared about security that much instead of removing it, Apple should have done is keep the sim card slot but instead have the iPhone ask for a passcode / faceID check before it can be removed. For security having the iPhone eject the sim card slot through the software instead of having an insert on the side of the phone. I cannot use Esim at all since I need to switch between two devices constantly.

Can’t you just smash the phone and retrieve the SIM card or if you want the SIM card? Who cares about a lost sim card since you can just cancel it like a credit card right away? Any calls made on it for illegal activity would be recorded anyway and retrieved by the authorities. Stupid idea and little security risk

For instance, if you have a cellular plan tap use Cellular plan then follow steps, the only two options that are on the phone says install cellular plan, or don't install cellular plan??? Seriously which one do you use if you have a existing plan??? Really Apple just put the dam pin drawer in and let people decide for themselves we have to much stuff going on in the world you're making it harder for the consumer! We do travel and we like switching to different carriers when it's convenient for us!!
Here in the US, majority of carriers don't support E-Sims. Att, Cricket, Boost, Metro, Cricket, TMobile, Red Pocket, customers are out of luck.Apple will lose millions of dollars and customers for removing the sim card tray. Another thing, 100s of thousands of customers have and need to swap their sims in and out of phones. Thisis something that isn't available with the new iPhone 14s. Like myself. I need to be able to pop my sims in and out.

Disaster step by Apple. Totally disappointed 😔😔.... Last year, they removed the charger, this year they removed SIM card slot, next year, they may remove one camera and probably by the end of 2030, people will remove 🍎 😂😂
Next year they'll probably remove the charging port to avoid switching to USB C under EU sanctions. And also so that you can buy their $50 magsafe wireless charger.

Now, many travellers that visit U.S for vacation and buyers of iphone will not buy this time because of this esim only. Most Asian visitors buy iPhone in U.S because is much cheaper rather thab buying from home country. This is really STUPID move. How come they cant just give us a choice of two version (esim only & sim supoort ) like ask customer first at the store " do you like esim iphone 14 or iphone 14 with sim support " this is a monopoly to cotrol consumers market to choose what they want for them.

It's kind of funny that they have chosen US as their main trial site for eSIM only. I mean here in the European, Denmark where I live. It has the last several years mainly been eSIM that appeared as the primary option when I bought a new phone. The normal sim card was almost hidden away, like an option intended for older phones. It's the same with the US credit cards. In DK you pay either with the build in NFC "contactless" or with the cards chip, and if you spend more than 30 USD. Then you have to enter the PIN code for your card. I'am not even sure that you still can pay with the old magnetic strip ;D although I do remember it as kid/young guy. Your card would come with both the chip and the magnetic strip as a backup solution for the chip.
The reason why Apple always does trials first in the US, is because we have more percentage of dumb people who will still buy iPhones no matter what Apple offers.
It's exclusive to USA models. All other countries retain the physical sim slot. Hong Kong & China mainland models still support Dual Sim cards without eSIM.

Yeah definitely. Other companies usually follow what Apple does Samsung flagships have eSIM technology. I won't be surprised if Samsung does this in a few years.

The Puerto Rico model is exactly the same as the US version. But it supports a sim tray. So yes Apple can do it
