True but it's also important to note that you don't need to spend $10k to get a nice suit. You can get a very nice suit off the rack at a reputable store for $500, especially when they have suit sales. You can get a custom made suit for under $1k. Most people can't tell the difference between a $1k suit and a $10k suit anyways just by looking at it.
It's a fact that it's not what you wear but how you wear it. You can make cheap $2 shirts look like $100 shirts because you fill it out. It's YOU that makes the piece work + your confidence. A brand just masks your insecurities and gives you something to talk about in social settings.

You don't need a tailor made suit. You can find affordable suits nowadays for as little as 200-300$ on Sale. Most stores that sell suits can also tailor them to you for cheap money. So tell them to adjust the lenght of your leg/arm/shoulder/back part and you'll have a suit that will fit you as if it's tailor made. And as Tristan said, the best looking suit is the one that is one the best looking man. Worry about how you look first before you worry about how your suit looks.
