    Who finds themselves watching old school first take debates? Crazy how much more entertaining it used to be. When things got loud, it fed the debate instead of just trying to be “loud” right. Yes they were loud back then too but it was different. Debates were actual debates, instead of just total screaming matches looking to put together clips for clicks.

    totally agree, been saying it since the playoffs. even if Rondo plays with hall of famers CP3 is missing that athleticism and defense that Rondo has. otherwise CP3 offensively is a bit better . this is coming from a Celtic Fan.

    @christopherpittman5719 12 лет назад

    ahh, yes you're correct. i meant among active players, i got a little crazy there. my point however is that I would take Rondo over any other pg in the league right now.

  • @nikz200
    @nikz200 12 лет назад

    True, but then again, we have to remember , we cant underestimate Nash in all this, he is a superstar still, and rondo is as well of course. But Rondo has always been covered by great shooters who know how to score buckets like Ray Allen, Pierce, Garnett etc. Who has Nash had in Pheonix? Frye and shannon brown? Im not saying for sure that Nash will be a instant hit in LA, but what if he has a amazing season, i mean, Gasol, Bryant , Howard and their bench players? thats a solid team for nash.

  • @jjabw
    @jjabw 12 лет назад

    I'd argue that his and Nash's passing abilities are a legitimate matchup, and I'm not sure how he can be the best rebounding point when he rebounds at the same rate as CP3 and a lower rate than Russel. I'm sure a healthy D rose would run them all for their money rebounding.

  • @Onlyrealmusic4life
    @Onlyrealmusic4life 11 лет назад

    I agree. People always brag that Kobe has led the Lakers in assists every season. The problem is he barely averages over 5. Are you kidding me? A guy leading the team in assists with 5 per game? That's horrible. That's a team that doesn't pass the ball to each other. And it all happens because the offense works through shooting guard who is going to take 23 shots a night no matter if he's making them or not.

  • @ChinmayJ15

    At everything besides scoring and shooting consistently, rondo is the best pg. He is the best rebounder, passer, and defender. If he had a jumpshot, he would be a monster

    Also lakers and heat in finals now that the trade is complete. Hello Andrew Bynum! Welcome to Philly!!!

  • @anonymousworld513
    @anonymousworld513 12 лет назад

    Rondo does not get assists from having good shooters... He creates shots for his teammates, wide open looks and cuts to the basket.... But the most significant thing about Rondo is his defense... He is the best defensive PG in the league

  • @BRBallin1
    @BRBallin1 12 лет назад

    I think it was a smart move for the Lakers. Pau is a great forward and when he leaves, the player that plays his position can't do a good job. Playing in the paint is very important and when Pau's gone, the Lakers will struggle even with Rondo since size matters.

  • @justinbankers
    @justinbankers 12 лет назад

    The only downfall to Rondo's game is that he cannot score consistently. In the playoffs he may have had a 40pt game but thats the only 40pt game he's ever had. Aside from his scoring woes though Rondo is the league's best PG. Best defensive point in the league, best rebounding point in the league, and behind Steve Nash is the best floor general in the NBA. Rondo finding options in the open court is deadly.

  • @sephron17
    @sephron17 10 лет назад +3

    wow that first guy was completely wrong about Bynum

  • @HorsNoises
    @HorsNoises 12 лет назад

    yeah i have the same view, but the fact that he scores so well makes him up at the top because he does play the point guard position. But he's more of a shooting guard in a point guards body. Even then though, I think that the Thunder should trade Harden and in the deal get a at least a decent point guard (and others to make the deal fair) and start Westbrook at the 2, because look at the Celtics, they start Avery Bradley at the 2 and he's 6'2 and Westbrook is 6'3

  • @HorsNoises
    @HorsNoises 12 лет назад

    You pretty much nailed everything in this comment, but the funny thing about this is i am a Celtics fan, but like you said he's clearly the best.

  • @xReppinHoustonx

    Jason "The Jet" Terry plays the way Doc wanted Allen to. Come off the bench and provide scoring. He is a great threat beyond the arc just like Ray. I see them being fine this year...maybe, and I mean maybe, next year.

  • @josexavier1997
    @josexavier1997 12 лет назад

    So we mostly agree, and I was purely talking about Westbrick not being the best PG in the western conference like u said. Nash has 2 MVPs, CP3 is the best PG, and Parker is just better too. I got CP3 slightly above Rondo, but I think at the end of the year Rondo will be the best.

  • @youz1uglybish
    @youz1uglybish 12 лет назад

    yeah rondo's ability to get his teamates involved is better than westbrooks! but rondo has to have the right pieces to work with for you to get the best out of his game! again russell westbrook is 23 years old he is improving with every year that goes by! his natural talent and his willingness to learn as seen by his improvements year after year would be enough to tell any GM that his upside is way too high to ever take rondo ahead of him..i respect your opinion though!

  • @nikz200
    @nikz200 12 лет назад

    So, it al depends really, right now it seems like rondo has a better team around him and therefore they can make his assist totals look good, meanwhile Nash is a fantastic PG who has been doing this for far longer than Rondo. Right now i would say Nash is the better passer, by pure point that if he played on a team like Lakers last season, his assist totals would have been way more than rondo

  • @BS2all
    @BS2all 12 лет назад

    Rondo would fit really well in houston. But what I don't understand is why Boston even wanted to trade Rondo. He is a MVP candidate.

  • @Bear0nAUnicycle
    @Bear0nAUnicycle 12 лет назад

    Considering Rondo is 12 years younger, had 3 all stars on his team he should be better than nash, I see nash's stats improving this year and rondo's dropping without ray allen

  • @nikz200
    @nikz200 12 лет назад

    interesting question, who is a better passer.... well, Nash averaged 10.7 assists per game last season, while Rondo averaged 11.7 assists, their turnovers per game are almost identical as well, Nash is better at scoring so there is that. AS for your question to who is the better passer, we dont know how good Nash can be on a great team like the Lakers... remember he was the focus for the Suns last season, now this season, he has so much talent around him, rondo has had great talent around him..

  • @DCProductions77

    Rondo is my favorite point guard when hes on his game i can't think of a more dangerous point guard. A triple double waiting to happen. The only thing that stops him and his jumper but its getting a lot better. Now with that said, he can't be on the same team as kobe. And who would trade gasol for rondo. Thats real stupid. People are looking all over the league for finess big men. Pau is rare.

  • @nikz200
    @nikz200 12 лет назад

    well the only above average players i can ever remember Nash playing with was Amare and Grant Hill...
    I guess we will need to see, i do agree that Rondo has done very well and has shown he is a top tier PG in the NBA and the Celtics will certainly make the playoff eastern conference finals for sure, as for Nash, i dont think Nash is on the decline, i think he has 2 years left of high octave play, last year he nearly single handedly lead a poor Suns team to the playoffs, dont write him off

    Yeah no I totally agree when Westbrook has 35 points and 6 assists and Durant has 23 points 8 assists, theres something WRONG here, also Westbrook has some maturity issues to iron out, still I think hes a phenomenal combo guard. I think CP3 and the Clips will win their division this year though. Rondo has improved alot from the line I hope this year he can become more consistent from the perimeter. The Celtics and Clippers are probably the two deepest rosters this season.

  • @Mehranrokh

    Rando is way more valuable than Gasol but at the same time it was very smart of Lakers to keep Gasol and add Nash.
    However, I am absolutely sure that OKC will be back in the finales the next year too.

  • @Bear0nAUnicycle
    @Bear0nAUnicycle 12 лет назад

    and actually stat wise Nash beats out rondo in points in ft, 3pt and fg percentages, rondo only gets 1 more assist, as said before rondo should've been putting up higher numbers considering he had better players around him especially assist wise

    he actually average 5 more points.. pretty big difference for a guy in his late 30s to a young guy, and with 10 more minutes rondo should be getting more than 1 more assist and point, nash is a better pg still

  • @Lucarinho
    @Lucarinho 12 лет назад

    and you still havent noticed that rose is a SG in a PGs body... hes just a scorer, daz it. In terms of being a pure point gurad, rondo is the best... but as you said, id also choose rose over rondo...

    The reason why Rondo seems so good to you is because he's playing with great players with great chemistry, without them he wont seem as good as he does now, when Cp3 was with hornets a bottom 10 team he was still considered the best PG in the NBA in most people's eyes, when Pierce/Garnett retire and since Allen is gone Rondo isn't gonna seem as the best PGin the NBA on a Celtic team which will still be considered a top 10 team in the East without Garnett/Pierce.

  • @WRavalJazz
    @WRavalJazz 12 лет назад

    You would take your current lineup over Howard, Pau, Meta, Kobe, and Nash? Dwight Howard can be the enforcer, while Pau can continue to be a finesse player. Pau (along with Nash) will get great looks with the pick & roll AS will Howard. Expect to see BOTH of their averages increase. On the Suns, Nash made decent players out of Chandler, Dudley, Gortat. Now replace these players with Superstars? Yeah, that's a scary team. We're not even talking about Kobe playing an "easier" game because of Nash.

  • @deuceman
    @deuceman 12 лет назад

    Rondo is 6 foot 1 and can palm the ball. Obviously it's gonna be hard to shoot the ball. It's like a nerf ball to him.

  • @Bear0nAUnicycle
    @Bear0nAUnicycle 12 лет назад

    I wouldn't the jet is good but why add another PG, they need a strong SG, honestly dont seem them anywhere near another ring for awhile, garnett is getting older, pierce isnt what he use to be, allen is gone, and if rondo is all they have left they are in trouble, Miami, OKC, Lakers, Spurs, Pacers, Hawks, Nuggets, and Philly seem to be above them on paper that is, mainly the Lakers considering the addition of D Howard and Nash

  • @KingDarkful
    @KingDarkful 12 лет назад

    I totally agree with you, but I think the Lakers will put up more of a fighting chance because of nash. Think about it, Nash is a true PG Westbrook is selfish, more of a SG. With Nash's passing skills he will make them a finals contender.

    correction rondo is a more pure point guard than cp3......cp3 is more of a score first guard instead of a pure run-the-floor- kind of guy that rondo is....cp3 obviously has a more consistent jump shot, plays off the ball and has more of an all-around style of play. they're both fantastic players in their own right, but i would rather have rondo on my team

  • @wannabeserpento99

    have to agree. if anyone watched the playoffs they will leave rondo open to shoot rather than let him drive and dish.
    sure once in a blue moon rondo might get hot and hit shots but more often that not, like you said, rondo cant shoot to save his life.

    I said Rondo is the better PG, I never said he was the better player. I think a point guards job is to make the other 4 guys on the floor get the ball and make them better. I think Rondo is way superior to Westbrook from that point of view. I do totally agree that Westbrook is the superior talent, his numbers would go up if he would get his own team (don't get me wrong I love Durant), and Rondo's would probably drop. But if I could start a team from scratch, give me Rondo!

    to feed on, if he can get all the shooters to consistently put it in from his passes , he will be feeding LA all night long. Look, rondo is a excellent PG who the celtics can trust in, but you cant write off nash either, these are the final years of nashs career, he wants the ring badly, so your going to see a Veteran superstar PG on a mission, he scores as well as assits. Right now as we speak, its hard to tell who is better. But, once we see how Nash plays on this Lakers team, we will know .

      He would’ve been better in todays game tbh. He was amazing in transition and most importantly, he shows up in the playoffs AND finals. There’s a reason why some believed he deserved FMVP over kobe in the 2010 finals. Pau was putting up insane rebounding numbers in one of the most physical finals series ever. He may not have the physique of Giannis or embiid, but pau was very aggressive and physical

    What does Westbrook do besides shoot. Rose is basically ineffective if he cant drive and penetrate. And I would argue D-Will and Rondo are 1A and 1B. CP3 is highly overrated. Its easy to get inside his head. Rondo can impact the game on so many levels.Rondo is also the best defensive point guard in the league. He volunteers to guard dudes like Melo and Lebron, who have 60 pounds and at least 7 inches on him. Lets see Cp3 or Westbrook do something like that. He is the only pure PG left

    WHAT OMG did u just say that CP3 is tied with Steve Nash?!!! CP3 is WAY better than Nash at this point. Nash plays no defense. He's great on offense, passing and shooting but he only plays one side of the floor. CP3 is arguably the best defensive guard in the game!
