Hey guys, I see that a lot of you are bummed about not doing the effect in Davinci Resolve. I agree and I know it sucks to have to switch softwares only for one thing. I personally tried doing this effect many times in Resolve, but as I mentioned in the video, the tracker always messed it up. Just in case you want to try it, the process is pretty much the same, but you have to use a normal tracker in Fusion, have it track the ball and then from Operations select Match Move. Other than that, I’m happy to see many Davinci Resolve editors out here. Everything else you saw in the example video, including the effects, has been completely done in DR. This is pretty much the only effect I do in AE, for the reason mentioned earlier. Also, thanks for the kind words, I’m really glad you enjoy this tutorial & my work!
@horeamerce ...Now that I'm thinking about it. I'm going to try to explain this the best way I can. Can you the edit where a person gets dunked on and when the defender who got dunk on, hits the floor...then use one of those cartoon animations where defender lays in a grave & the character puts dirt on him. 😂🤣 Or when a player gets crossover'ed, he slides out of frame into another dimension. 😂🤣 I saw someone do this a couple of years ago, but I could never figure out how to do it or how the editor got the animations. That would be great, no worries if it's not possible. Keep up the great work...and I followed you on Instagram.
@BeyondTheGame_E Thanks E! I would like for him to do any edit or effect that is done with DaVinci Resolve only. Other than that, this guy is good. Thanks for having him on.
@@U2TV_Sportscast I'm sorry man, I also wish this effect could be done properly in Resolve. I tried it many times but it never came out right, so I just explained the best way I found to achieve it.
E I am planning to buy a Sony A6700 Camera and I usually shoot my basketball games and post them. Yet a beginner so learning everything step by step but can I do such tracking in a single position camera angle footage as well? Also if I buy the A6700 Camera will a Kit lens be able to detect such a Ball tracking?
None of this is done in the camera itself, it's all done at the editing stage. So it doesn't matter what camera or lens you use, as long as you keep the ball in frame, you'll be able to do something like this in the edit.

It's your passion for that sport that will take you to the deep seas of detailed editing.
Finally, a Davinci Resolve pro editor. 💪🏾
I spoke too soon🤦🏾♂️ I don't use Abode.
Let me know if there’s something in particular you’d like him to demonstrate in DaVinci resolve and I can ask him if he’s willing to do it.

Do you film the clips or do you find them online? If so where do you find them
Personally, most of the videos I produce are done with content I film or that is supplied by my clients.
For me, all of the shots I used in this clip I filmed personally.

Yes you can, as long you have the right lens.
