    Friendly advice to be careful with a pressure washer on the Roof and where the decals are on the sides. Not as big of an issue with newer rigs but definitely can be with some that are 5+ years old. UV damage is a b*tch.
    Just 2 cents from a full time RVer. Love the hustle my man. I'm about to leave my corporate job and start doing this along with other maintenance and repairs. Keep up the good work.
    BTW a lot of people will charge by the foot. i.e ($15/foot x length of trailer) Just depends on if you're only washing or what all you're doing. Also recommend treating all the rubber seals with a UV protectant (not Armorall)

    Ive been detailing rvs for 3 years professionally, own a mobile rv service and repair business and have been working with rvs for 7 years. I've got a couple of tips for anyone who wants them.
    You talked about water spots on the windows. Use a quick detailer to do all your windows on rvs. It will take off any and all waterspotting. Trust me on this one. It's takes a medium. Amount of pressure and a microfiber towel. We use speed shine.
    If it's the first time we have touched and rv we always degrees the whole thing as a pre wash. Since it's getting protection afterwards you need to prep the surface and will save you a lot of time a frustration.
    For the roof, first get a ladder if you're doing rvs. Never trust the service ladders on the back. I've had them tear off the sidewall. Get your self a little giant ladder.
    To get through the roof quicker use a strong degrees and light pressure on the roof. The roof is a rubber membrane and if you tear it or damage it, it is not a cheap fix. Then use a good automotive soap and follow up with a uv protectant like 303 ultimate uv.
    For awnings go on Amazon and get Magic mopper erasers. They are big magic erasers with a velcro back. De-grease the awning and lightly scrub with the eraser. Rinse off. Soap, scrub rinse then hit with the uv protectant. It will loom perfect after you're done.
    The side walls I wash one entire side with de-greaser, followed by soap and we do it twice on every surface. The front may need more due to bugs. Then we dry and use carpro hydro 2. Do not cheap out on this part, the fiberglass needs to be taken care of and your need to charge accordingly.
    After years of doing this we do not do by the foot pricing but that is because we have online scheduling and it makes it easier on the customer to schedule. 29 feet and under is $299 and that include roof and awning, 30-37 feet is $349 and 38+ is $399. It takes 3 to 3.5 hours for me to do an entire rv by myself. Make sure you do the job properly as with all things.
    Ceramic coating on gelcoat is a bit different than ceramic coatings for automotive paint. Fiberglass is way more porous and needs a thicker coating. You always want to put a marine coating on gelcoat, it will soak up a huge amount of it just by the nature of it. Some of the longer lasting marine coating say they last about 3 years but they only account for being in water so you'll get more life out of them.
    I hope this helps and I'm sure I've missed a few things but anyone is welcome to message me for more information.

      Can you buff polish & wax a 45 foot painted RV by yourself in 3-4 hours too?

    • @GlennSherwood
      @GlennSherwood Год назад +1

      @danarias2929 Well, that depends on a couple of things. Condition, climate, and what the customer wants. Could I use a machine polisher to apply a wax in 3-4 hours after prep work? Absolutely. Could I remove oxidation in 3-4 hours? I can not do that. We are talking about a full day or multi day process and a thousand plus dollar price tag.
      It's like doing a paint enhancement on a car vs. a 2 stage paint correcting. The answer is that it just depends on the level of service you are providing, the customer expectations, your skill level, and what you're willing to do.

    • @danarias2929
      @danarias2929 Год назад

      @@GlennSherwood Ive been using using a 4 step process for years on RVs.
      2 step makita polisher with white & yellow 9 inch wool pads.
      Then 2 step process using a rupes polisher (blue & yellow pads 5 inch pads).
      Then wipe down as you go.
      I’ve used this process for years.
      I have been buffing on 45 foot RVs in 11-12 hrs average.
      If customer wants their roof washed, heavy water spots removed, tires & wheels wiped down it takes longer. 1-2 hrs more depending on how bad water spots are.
      I don’t take breaks & I’m not distracted by anything & I only work alone. I’m just curious on how others who are buffing on large scale consistently on 45 foot RVs & what process they are using & how long it takes them in today’s market. Do you buff on RVs often?

    Totally agree with hunter and is exactly what I did. Keep your prices low when you start off whether it’s cars or RV or a new vehicle type. Build that specific clientele then raise your prices. Don’t charge high with few clients and no experience.

  • @danarias2929
    @danarias2929 Год назад +1

    Definitely charge extra for water spot removal from RVs. Water spots can vary depending on how bad they are. Figure out what you would charge for that extra service. Otherwise you spend extra time on RVs without getting paid for it. Time is $ & it ain’t free my friend. If customer isn’t interested in that service then don’t do it for free & let them know before you do the service. Otherwise they might just assume that you are going to remove it like it’s included in your service. Be very clear as you walk them around their RV before serving it. That way there’s no confusion about what you are doing for them. Btw I’d definitely charge more for cleaning RV roofs or you can just add it to your package of washing RVs. Either way you profit $.
    Btw You’re doing great 👍

    Wayne you should check out the SOLA TECS C 400 cm solar cleaning brush . it is a rotating brush which is driven by a pressure washer and spins at 700 RPM per minute . The brush itself is very soft and designed for solar panels and glass... IMO it owuld have done that roof in not time at all .. and possible could have been used for the sides of this RV as well ... Do a bit of research .... THis brush saves tons of manual scrubbing this is why it is used for cleaning solar panels

    Good video bud. I charge by the foot for rvs . I start at 10 for a wash and wipe . Add another 5 per for the roof and up to 40 per depending on protection desired. Which brings me to ceramics. Im not a believer in these 7 , 8 9 10 yr ceramics but nit for the reason you stated . My thoughts are 1) thats a long time for a customer to keep a maintenance program . Life gets busy . 2 ) the average person onky keeps their vehicles for around 5 yrs so why try to sell them a 10 yr when most wont benefit from it . 3 ) environment. Yhe longevity of a coating has many variables. A coating installed in a nice weather state will last longer than a coating in a snow state . I do uo to 5 yr and thats it . Even then i explain to my customers that probably more like 3 in the real world and that it needs to be a partnership between us to maintaining it . If they , over time , dont hold up their end it just wont last .

    Hate to be that guy, but for a camper that size with a spray on/scrub/spray off wash I really feel like $350-$500 is on point. Anything more than that is an overcharge unless the condition is bad, which this wasn’t

      @@HuntersMobileDetailing for sure man, No hate. And I don’t do detailing work anymore, haven’t for a few years. I do have a camper though so from a consumer point of view I just can’t see people spending over $500 on a wash unless it’s been neglected. But you never know, if people are willing to pay then go for it. Best of luck to you guys

      Aside from the physical work, you gotta factor in your marketing, employees, time etc. People will pay. Obviously we wont charge them something overboard but you gotta gotta get something as well.

    can you put a sealant on without clay bar ?

    • @danarias2929
      @danarias2929 Год назад

      Technically you don’t need to clay-bar it. It helps but you can also buff it. Either way it’s up to you. Just have a clean surface.
      I recommend a wash & buffing it first that way the surface is clean.
      Polish it afterwards & then add your sealant of choosing. Make sure when you apply it that you’re not in the direct sunlight. This time of the year is just too warm to apply sealants & ceramic coating to anything directly in the sun.
      If you don’t have a covered area to work under then at minimum do it at night. Just get some good bright lighting to help & take your time. Follow the instructions on what you are using too 😊
