Saint Elizabeth of Portugal ? One of the miracles attributed to her is the “miracle of the roses”. After the king had discovered she was leaving the palace to take food to the poor he forbade her to do it. He threatened to lock her up and confine her to the palace. She never gave up and every day she was still leaving behind the king’s back. One day in the winter time she was carrying pieces of bread hidden in her dress. The King saw her going out and stopped her asking, “What you are carrying?” She answered, “Roses, my lord.” He didn’t believe because it was winter. He asked her to show him the roses. Obediently she unfolded the dress and there were roses instead of bread.
The people in this chateau truley make my days better. Constantly impressed with the amount of smiles you all can give us! Thank you all for being you!!
Isobel, never have I seen a person with such a delightfully fully-formed character. You are sugar and spice to the apple cake of life. I'm so glad you and Percy are back at La Lande.
I couldn’t stop laughing at all the activities in the kitchen with your aunt and uncle. They need to be at LaLande more often. Your aunt’s meal looked delicious. Andie is such a talented artist. Love her paintings. Happy birthday Phillip. Hope you have a glorious year around the sun ☀️ 🎂🎊🎉😍🤩
Kirstie is one of those lovely people that absolutely radiates joy! I’ve always thought she was so pretty - but she looks positively STUNNING in today’s vlog!
I have to say I always enjoy the interactions between Stephanie and her mother, Isabelle, from conversations right down to facial expressions. Always, behind it all, one sees the loving bonds that exist one to the other. Both are sharp leaders and strong-willed, Isabelle in an open and forthright manner while Stephanie follows a quieter but equally resolute path. To me they are both delightful souls deserving of great respect for their lifelong accomplishments… and for their current roles in preserving and carrying on with the all-consuming jobs they have chosen to be entrusted with, that is, maintaining the highest possible standards for the Chateau’s renovation and daily operations. Keep on doing what you’re doing, both of you, as you see best.
I really think your aunt and uncle need a wee apartment too... perhaps Amaury could build them a cottage in the new woodland garden ? Such beautiful people all gathered together ❤️🥰
Ugg fits too because Ugg is an Aussie colloquial word that's short for ugly. (long story, has to do with shearers) She has a don't mess with me (ugly) look
💙It's the 'after party' crew. It's so strange to adore so many people I've never met. Joyeux anniversaire Phillip! Que l'amour, la paix et l'amitié t'entoure toujours 🎉🥂
Well, of course I love all the posts, that is why I watch them. But I have to say today's is one of my most favourite in a while. Lovely visit with you all, and well done for all the hard work and success of the Patron Visiting Days!
I just adore your aunt & uncle, & watching them cook (& him dance!) together is such fun!! Such a lovely group assembles at Lalande!! So much laughter ~ it absolutely is contagious & makes my day! Happy Birthday, Phillip!!
Happy birthday, dear Philip! 🎂🎉I hope you've recovered from all the incredibly long hours you put in for the patron days. Thank you for another wonderful video Stephanie. 💕
OMG all that food your aunt prepared....it looked delicious. Your aunt and uncle are such good fun, they are a perfect fit for Lalande. Now the pressure of the open days is over you are all playing...great fun.
Chantal has topped her style level with that blue and white top! It was completely stunning on her. I really enjoyed meeting and talking with all of the LaLanders when I was fortunate enough to attend one of the Patron Days and bonus … stay for two nights. All of your family members, including Philip, have such a fabulous sense of style. Percy’s robe was a perfect example of this! Thanks for a fun vlog visit to LaLande. 💕
Absolutely marvelous! The garden, the animals, the people, the food and the fun! Such a jolly vlog. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHILLIP FROM SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA.
Happy 🎂birthday Philip 🥀🤗..The chickens could be starting or on their molt. What a lovely group of handsome people. Everything so beautifully eclectic . The dog's really make the Chateau court yard, as would have been way back. Love too you all.♥️
The unusual and exotic foods and gifts brought by the patreons look like a really good feast! I agree with your aunt. My peppers are always stuffed with left-over meat loaf. The last pieces are usually incorporated into pasta sauce....and....I use only pork in my meat loafs. Cheers and thank you...the videos are always noteworthy.
You should sell the special paper napkins at the château shop, as well as the honey, lavender and cut flowers from the garden. I also think you need a bigger dinning room ☺️
Happy Birthday Philip! It will hopefully be a quiet rest of the week. The garden improvements are wonderful as always. Love Andie's paintings of the B&B rooms and Marquis's rooms. A good clean out for Isabelle and a great small party. Bach and Van Gogh as chicken names, or Einstein? 😘😘😘😘
Such a fun vlog. Your aunt and uncle are so much fun, such happy people I can see why Amaury is the lovely person he is. I love when Cat visits! The gardens look amazing! I get the sponge saga… soak it in white vinegar and hot water and rinse in clean water. Ring it out after. Happy Birthday Phillip! I hope you have the best year!
So much love and laughter (especially the laughter) highlights the joy that is Chateau LaLande. The wonderful guests always spreading their own special touches of humorous conversations. What a joy to watch....!
I’m with Marie, the soggy sponge is such a no no! It’s one of my only kitchen rules as well, and it is honored very rarely. 😢 the garden and the flowers all looked so beautiful in this video. The dahlias were stupendous.
Stephanie Wonderful vlog as usual it's lovely to see so much laughter and interaction from you all your aunt and uncle are fabulous mummy and Percy are just precious love to you all ❤️
Amaury's dogs ae beautiful, I wondered how long it would be, before Philip started on a new campaign for a dog... Good Luck and Happy Birthday! Great to see everyone laughing, joking and having fun, Maria has a killer sense of humour... ❤🦘
I heard that after Prince Philip’s death the Queen had specifically asked that no one in the family use ‘Lilibet’ anymore as this was Prince Philip’s special pet name for her and he was the last one in the family to use that name? It was first used by her Grandfather King George V when Queen Elizabeth was a toddler and couldn’t pronounce her name properly and was also used by close members of her family.
@@christineh5790 I hadn't heard that, and I am a Brit, too. To my knowledge, that was a name given to her in infancy, but I didn't realize that it was prohibited, particularly since Harry and Megan used it for their daughter. However, if not Lilibet, then how about Bowes-Lion, Regina or simply Elizabeth? x
@@christineh5790 I am named for my mother's British best friend's daughter, who was born the same year as King Charles. People use the royal names all the time, you can't stop them.😘😘😘😘
I have enjoyed following your channel. We moved to Strasbourg in Alsace two years ago from Canada (middle of the pandemic), and we are loving it here. If you want to know anything about oriental carpets (Persian) My father is an expert in the field, having worked in the business for over 50 years. I’m sure he would have some wonderful pieces that would look beautiful at Lalande. Can’t wait to plan a visit with my family to your Chateau. Wishing you courage to continue your journey at the chateau. 😊❤
I just totally adore your Aunt and Uncle! Every time they come and visit it makes me so happy. Please give them both a big hug from Sydney, Australia xoxo

You mean Elisabeth of Thuringia at the Wartburg central Germany. She was a hungarian princess. (I live in the area.)
This is a beautiful story
I named my daughter after her.
Stephanie Murray Beautiful story.
What a beautiful comment. Thanks for explaining. 💕
The candelabra is original to the chateau just is the most hilarious thing MARIE has said 😂😂😂
Love your Aunt’s style of dress, she is a beautiful woman
😘 Thank YOU!!! Absolutely brought my spirits up! Best to you and all the Lalande gang!!
Amaury's parents are the best!! Such fun. You all are so lucky to have such a wonderful group of people.

Happy Birthday Phillip! It was delightful meeting you, in July. Love the chandelier "original to the chateau!"
I really think your aunt and uncle need a wee apartment too... perhaps Amaury could build them a cottage in the new woodland garden ? Such beautiful people all gathered together ❤️🥰
Give Amaury and Nati a holiday first before that feat. Yikes 🤣
Dear Stephanie & Phillip, I’m so happy that you like the floral place settings. On my next visit to the delightful LaLande, I will bring more. ❤
Mom and Percy look so healthy, wonderful video!!! Thank you Stephanie!!! The meal looked so grand!!!
Even in the calm after all the excitement of the Patron days, la Lande is full to the brim with life, love and laughter! 🥰
The chickens name shall be Ugg. It looks like it’s wearing a pair of Ugg boots.
As an Aussie UGG wearer, I'll second that!
Love that name- it fits lol

Regarding the chickens, you had me at "look at that magnificent bottom."
I loved that!
I think that chicken should have gotten a bountiful curvy bottom African woman goddess name instead of Picasso?
Bach on the front ! The mind boggles at what's on the back !
Oh what joy when the family dines together. Have a well earned rest. Until next time. x
