In karnataka history there is a astonishing incident happened here at this place.once an domesticated elephants leg was wounded which was present in the palace of king who was ruling this area. the reason for wound is not known. but the king and palace men thought it will die like that. later the king realeased the elephant to rome in and around forest of tumkuru (where this place is locted). there was an iron chain tied to the elephant leg (mysuru dasara elephants also have chain in there legs ,indicating they are domesticated and wont kill people). That elephant entered this hill forets region eating its foder,grass etc .when it came out ,its wound was disapperead and the iron chain in it leg became gold .due to greed of turning iron into gold the king sent some other elephants and horses into the forest surrounding this area but this time the miracle didnt happen.This hill is of mystical place ,sadly now a days these mystical places are disappering due to greed of economic growth.
