Hi Nick, great list!! I just started with YNAB in October and your video for beginners saved me. As a Quicken user it was such a mind shift from tracking to planning. I am a financial coach and I recommend your videos to all my clients. Thanks for all the hard work you do in producing them. Please keep up the great content.
No way Renata!! That's awesome. I super appreciate that :) Seriously, it means a ton. I'm glad to hear that you're using YNAB, I switched from Quicken as well, and it definitely is a mind-shift. Hopefully, it's going well for you though. Thanks for the kind words and for commenting :)
I absolutely love my AirPods - they make listening to podcasts and RUclips videos something I can do while doing other things like cooking or cleaning, since there aren’t any wires don’t get caught. $170 was steep at launch but I’ve used them for hours a day, almost every day, for over a year now and they’re still going strong.
Duncan Beard nice! I’ve literally heard nothing but great things about them. Every single person I know who has them, loves them. I’ll definitely have to look harder at them this year. I just may get some :) Thanks for sharing Duncan!
Hi Nick, totally agree with how valuable the Enneagram has been in understanding the motivation of work colleagues and family members. Have been a Quicken user for 20 years and never budgeted! One of our daughters recently suggested YNAB, which looks exactly what we need to manage surviving retirement. Your 'beginners guide' video answered the key questions left hanging from YNAB's own material. Now subscribed and working through your channel. Best wishes from Oz, Peter
Wow what a coincidence, I was just looking at the peak design backpack. I don’t need a backpack so probably won’t be purchasing it (thanks ynab) but it’s awesome to know something like that exists and that it made it to your top 10 list!
mldforce haha no way!! And yes, lol thanks to YNAB that’s why it took me 6 months before I got it 😂 I do LOVE that bag though. It’s been fantastic. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
I have a pet plan through my vet's office. It pays for all of her shots and vaccinations and I get unlimited office visits. For costs above that I also receive 10% off of all services. I spend $34.99/month and I feel it more than pays for itself. I also get a free item per month I can choose from and I usually choose a bath which costs $40 if I paid for it, so again I think it is a good deal.
No way! That is a really cool service. I've not heard of something like that before, but is definitely something I need to look around for. Thanks so much for sharing Melodie! That's awesome.
I recently did a video about my favorite purchases this year. I don't know that I have made any big smart purchases like you describe here, but I do like my chocolate and Dollar Tree velvet hangars!
We live in a town with "questionable" water & I have health issues, so we can't take any chances. We bought a countertop water distiller ... It's saved us a fortune in bottled water, eliminates plastic in the landfill, & keeps us from drinking from plastic containers
I still haven't taken the plunge into YNAB. I love the concept and its flexibility but am not sure that it will save me a lot at this stage of my life. If, however, I find myself falling behind in my budget, I will look into getting it. Thanks for the reminder about the floor jack. I don't have a bed topper for my truck so am limited in space to store something like this. However, if something ever happened that I would need to jack up my camper, It would be invaluable. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🤶❄
Absolutely! YNAB isn't right for everyone, but it's definitely been helpful for us. And yes, the jack has been great when needed haha :) Thanks for watching as always, and Merry Christmas to you as well!
@@ryandavidsheasby4028 4 month trial? That'd be great. I have a 34 (bit random!) day trial but suspect that won't be long enough for me to get my head round it. How did you get a 4 month trial please?
I can't agree with numbers 4 and 5 more! I love both of those. I think my best purchase this year has to be YNAB. It has been a catalyst for many other good purchases and life changes.
Our number one purchase this year was YNAB. We had managed to accumulate $30000 in debt in the last 4 years and YNAB (and the decision to better manage our finances) has helped us go from over spending, (by $625/month avg.) to paying off almost $3000 in 7 weeks. All of our spending for the rest of the month is covered (including Christmas gift) and we will have surplus that we can carry over to December. Thanks Nick for such clear and understandable instruction. :)
Boom! That's awesome Steve. How amazing. That's amazing! Congrats on your success and super hard work. And thanks for taking the time to comment and let me know.
Love the idea of pet insurance being 'marriage insurance'. I hadn't thought about it but I think my wife and I would be in the same place with our dog (though I'd be the one waffling on the price but my wife would be all-in on paying anything).
i think not purchasing things was the smartest thing we have done this year. we are totally focused on hitting some major goals and it feels great to be almost there.
They do have a bible, but Hanna and I buy their individual reading bible studies and plans. shereadstruth.com/plans hereadstruth.com/plans/ www.shopshereadstruth.com/ We've really enjoyed going through their studies.
Personally, being nomads and being outdoorsy and living out of a vehicle didn’t work for us, but we are glad that the Lord has lead us out of that claustrophobic and restrictive environment.
Its a sweet online store that has a bunch of cool products tailored for men. I've seen your backpack and stove on there before, so that's what lead me to believe it. Btw, been going down the rabbit hole watching all of your videos. I like your style. I think you'll be able to help me out a lot! :)
Oh cool! I just checked it out, looks pretty sweet. You’re right, I do like the stuff on that site. And awesome! I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying the videos. Let me know if there’s ever anything I can do to help!
Setting aside money for our daughter's first year of college felt SO GOOD to spend! As one happily married since 1987, studying Scripture with your wife is incredible. Well done! What led you to choose to trust and follow Jesus as Savior?
That's so awesome Scott! Big deal to be able to spend when you've planned for so long and it isn't a burden. Hmmm. That's a good question. I grew up in the church and have been around Christianity my whole life. I went through a real studying/searching period in early college looking at atheism as well as other religions and that only helped solidify my faith and strengthen those beliefs. I definitely would give a lot of credit to loving parents. I'm extremely blessed to have the parents I do.
@@mappedoutmoney It's good to have such a blessed background. Neither my wife nor I had that. I came to trust Jesus as a 19yo and then had the privilege to lead my wife-to-be to that same faith a few months later. Our daughter, obviously, grew up with parents who are followers of Jesus; however, she made that decision at age six-and-a-half (she wasn't "automatically" a Christian because mom and dad were no more than she was married because mom and dad were - it's a choice). She knew the story of how God created everything perfectly and then willful disobedience to God's command ruined everything. Adam and Eve tried to cover their sin with fig leaves, but that was insufficient. God sacrificed an animal to cover their sin as a picture of the Lamb of God, Jesus, Who would take the punishment of sin (death) upon Himself. He arose from the grave three days later, conquering death and the grave. Scripture says that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead then we will be saved from the penalty of eternal death. Jesus calls that being born again in His conversation with Nicodemus in the third chapter of John's Gospel account. When that takes place, our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. A classmate in seminary encapsulated the story at www.gotlife.org If that born again experience hasn't happened to you yet, if you don't know for sure that you'd go to Heaven when you died, I'd be happy to share further.
Oh totally! I agree with all of that :) I was young like your daughter when I made that decision. It was in October and I was 8. I wholeheartedly agree my man. Sorry I wasn't clear on that! Not sure if you're a follower of the Enneagram personality typing system, but I'm a 1. Which is a very black/white and right/wrong type person. After I left my parents house I wanted to do some more thinking on Christianity. Mostly from the standpoint of solidifying my faith and finding the truth on my own rather than just accepting what I was taught. Wrestling with my faith, with God, and with other ideas in that time was really good for me. And ultimately, when you're searching for Truth, you'll find it. And I did. There's still plenty I don't understand, but I choose to walk on faith for that stuff )
