This song was played at my son's funeral on 12/9/2022. He was 42 years old. A part of me died with him. I will never stop loving you my child. I couldn't even say goodbye to him. From one second to the other he was no longer there. It hurts so bad

My brother passed away (16) when I was 15--just like a lightswitch had been thrown. It's been 17 years now so longer than he was alive and I've wished many times over the years to be able to talk with him about things. The pain does lessen in time, and with that you start to remember the life they lived.
I wish God take care your pain, your son is star in the sky with Chester and other millions angels that passed for this horrible world, they tried to bring one more light for these times

It's a long damned time. I don't think there's been a single waking moment since that day that Chester hasn't been on my mind. His voice is always in the back of my mind, singing like an angel.

I had a friend I met when we were both seven or eight. He loved Linkin Park's music. I remember how upset he was when he found out about Chester's passing. I know nothing of the band, and simply stumbled across this song. The lyrics brought me to tears, and brought back memories of my friend. He and I were best friends, at least that's what I thought we were. I'll never see him again, I know that. But nevertheless, he was a great friend, and I miss him.
If he sees this, I hope he knows it's him, and it's me who's writing.

I remembered this song about a year ago on a trip to the beach, I’m not gonna say where for safety but anyways once I got to my hotel room I put my stuff where I needed it, it was night time, I got to the balcony, and I’ll tell you, it was one heck of a view hearing the waves, looking at the night sky and the dark ocean, then that’s when this song popped into my head, made me start to realize how good I had it, I thought “thank god” for everyone and everything I love in my life, and I’d like to thank Chester and his buddies for being a relatable shoulder to lean on, not only for me, but for millions of others, rest in peace king

Never had a gf at 25 and that kinda stinks, but I learned to enjoy the little things in life like going for walks, running, working out, or just being in nature. Don't ever be afraid to reach out to people in whatever areas you frequent and say hi. You'll be surprised at how open people may be to talkng once you break the ice. Lastly and most importantly seek to have a relationship with Jesus. He loves you more than anyone else can! Just cry out to Him and ask Him to save you. Pray that He would give you a new heart that would Love God and want to serve Him. God bless you man!!

Last year my best friend committed suicide. It still hurts me to think that the person I played video games with every afternoon is gone. It tears me apart, I knew she was having a hard time and I tried to help her as much as I could, I recommended her to go to a psychologist because she wasn't getting better. One day in class his father called me and told me the news, I cried for months and lost 14 kilos of sadness. I still miss her and this song reminds me of her.

Having lost our 19yr old son to the most unimaginable suicide recently me and my wife totally understand this interview and feel just what our son and Chester was going through. Fighting to stay alive when all you want to do is die is the hardest thing to do. On the outside you can look fine but on the inside you can be dead already.

Sadly he had demons that he couldn't beat. He lost the war ultimately but we should appreciate that for so many years he won his own personal battle every day, and contributed his wonderful voice and talent with us all for as long as he was able to. RIP Chester
