A few months ago I had heard that some people prep this restaurations and this is a clear example of that, the rust part is just paint you can tell when he pours the stripping material, there is no corrosion in this materia in fact this type of metal does not corrode

There is no way for the alloy to corrode. it can become covered with a white coating if it is affected by the so-called plague. What you see are different types of paint applied to this metal surface by the previous owner. Kind regards

The only thing you have to fear with diecast models is Zinc Pest. Rare nowadays as the quality of the melted casting metal has improved. Mainly affects older castings. Almost unknown with Matchbox.
