I used to have this SRN6. In my youth, I travelled on one a few times from Southsea to Ryde on the Isle of Wight. I spent many hours watching them. I played with this toy for hours pretending to do the Solent crossing. Thanks for rekindling those memories. Lovely restoration..

Maestro, a truly phenomenal restoration today!! So much drilling and polishing. Much more than usual. The finicky prop repair, and gear mechanism you crafted was like watching a pocketwatch being cleaned and oiled. Great colors!! I really like the silver paint with acrylic clearcoat applied with dye. I rode in one of those when I was about 10 years old....from Portsmouth to Ryde on the Isle of Weight. It was a lot faster than a boat but it was bumpy as all get out, banging through and over waves. It was only the once and more than enough, it was a much nicer on the regular ferry boat coming back. Nice restore btw 😁👍
Dinky was the pionnier of this model, but you, Paul, you 're the first to restore this model. Very good idea to use a French ecological product to protect metal and our planet. All Saturday I wait your next videos..
Just a thought, but you could cast the propeller as resin, creating a entire new piece right? Then it would be uniform in material closer to the original?
Very good job at restoring. The only thing I would suggest would be to cut the letters and numbers separate (SRNR6) apply them one by one between the hull 'spines' for lack of the proper word.
I have one of these i am also restoring, this was great thank you. With the metallic paint, what so you use as a sye for the red colour over the silver? It looks perfect and my attempts using acrylic pigment have failed badly.

Hey buddy, either the decal you made is incorrect, or the box is incorrect, because the decal appears as “SR.NR6” and on the box it's “S.R.N.6”.
