Opposite opinion: this song is heavy af. Has a catchy chorus and dark breakdown this no lyrics, just a instruments. Love it and enjoy this direction. They have a classic new song that intoducing new vocalist and now we have this new heavy sheit. Look forward to hear more Steve's cleans.
Ive been a fan since 2000 and have enjoyed all their albums. Though some of the production during the Waylon era left a lot to be desired. This band is like Iced Earth, revolving door of members and you never know what you are gonna get with each album. Makes it fun when they drop new stuff. I accepted a long time ago this aint the same band, makes it easier to enjoy this stuff. To be honest, they havent sounded like Mushroomhead since XIII outside of A Wonderful Life.
Their first 4 albums are SO enjoyable! This is not their sound at all, but I still enjoy it a bit. Honestly, I enjoyed every album until Jeffrey and Shmotz left.
I think they should change names too, without Jeffery and J-Mann it’s just not Mushroomhead, they were everything to this band and I think they deserved better. Even though I genuinely did enjoy A Wonderful Life, if I want to listen to this band it’s always going to be anything from self-titled to 13, anything after that I feel they either gave up really trying or went in a different direction that didn’t pay off.

However, based on these 2 new songs, I actually think its their best work since the Jeffery Nothing and J-Mann days. They have definitely evolved and adding Jackie to the band is a nice touch. I will be doing a full review for it on The Great Metal Debate podcast.
I enjoyed Prepackaged more than Fall in Line. This far from the Nothing and Jmann era. These are two songs ...there are eleven more to hear.Skinny said there very different compositions are new album. I think it will surprise the listeners.

Of course it's all a matter of personal taste. i actually like this song and album better than the Solitaire/Unravelling era material. They have progressed beyond the Nu Metal era, which I never much cared for. This is well-produced current metal and a very good song.
The lyric writers just aren't as dynamic as Jeffrey Nothing & J-Mann. They were the peak of the bands lineup. The band is also missing ST1TCH. I like this new drummer - he actually has fills in his cadences unlike Skinny's straight ahead drumming of the past. I like the dynamic of the three singers & the sound is still good, it just doesn't feel like the essence of the band is there. It used to be so much more dramatic & orchestral.
I for one love their new stuff. The problem is that most people prefer comfort and familiarity so when change comes into play their mind automatically goes into a negative direction.

I like the song, the masks and the vibe of the band. The video wasn't too try hard and didn't outshine the song which is heavy AF. I loved the anti-solo solo too. It was less flash with more smash and Mushroomhead smashed it out of the park for me with Prepackaged. Cheers!

What I took from it 1. Should've never parted ways with Jmann. His vocals would've sounded better with Steve R's. 2. Scott Becks vocals are legit trash. Very bland and as you said generic. There's nothing that stands out. There's no heart or anything unique about it. I've heard about 50 other singers that sound identical to him. 3. Jackie is literally there for image and nothing else. Seems to be Skinnys' way of putting his girlfriend over and getting her out there as much as possible. Also, were still doing the whole One eyed willy thing? Smh. Lose the goofy contacts. You're not scary, you're not being dramatic. You look like a fool. 4. Other people have said it and i agree. I cant stand the camera angles. The stuff they're doing is awful. They've used the same camera style for the last 4 to 5 music videos (that close up, we're edgy, look at us how scary we are) shtick is getting old. It was neat for Seen It All, but for EVERY video come on. We get it. You're a visual band, but damn. Looks like something a teenager could make online with the right tools. 5. Unnecessarily long breakdown with very little impact. It seems like you're going to get this huge climax, and something big is coming then just goes into this weird percussion and pause that just doesn't seem to fit. 6. The intro is the best part of the song, everything else just falls off. It grabs your attention at first and along the way you lose interest. Overall, I think it's garbage in every way possible. Hard pass on this one. I like to have an optimistic point of view and I truly hope the rest of the album sounds better but I'm not holding my breath or getting my hopes up.

I instantly thought that too.. what a waste of runtime, its a pet peeve of mine when bands "miss"use that moment adding nothing and just padding the runtime of a song with slop. I would forgive them if they just didn't bother with the breakdown. If you're gonna use that time, do something with it ffs
Jmann had no choice but to leave. Someone in his family is very sick from what I heard. It's a similar situation to him leaving after XIII. I'm pretty sure he's just considered on hiatus.

No, people 💩 on Slipknot when it's deserved. Which is not at this moment since they got Eloy to drum for them. Check out their tour videos and you'll see there's nothing to criticize Slipknot for at this moment lol
Or change Slipknot's name to Mushroomhead. Slipknot's producers stole the whole Mushroomhead concept and put together a band to use it. Slipknot is a boy-band of metal, although they do have some good tunes.

Mushroomhead always a unique sound, definitely some avant-garde’ness to the metal. I miss the J-Mann/jeff nothing combo. Even Waylon I liked too.
They're so stale now. Mushroomhead always had that darkness about them and now it's very vanilla..

This song felt like all build up that never amounted to anything. Mushroomhead has continually fallen off.

Not even Mushroomhead anymore. I remember them from like the mid 90s up until maybe a decade ago. Just too many different members and different sound.

These two singles have been pretty meh to be honest. Doesn't bode well for the album.
What I took from it
