I was the artistic producer and the music director/conductor. I did the vocal arrangements by taking the ones I loved from the Broadway show OR transcribing the ones from the movie OR changing them to add some extra sass like in BLACK BOYS, HIPPIE LIFE....or in this song!
Seth please tell me there is recordings of these concerts!!! I know of the Dreamgirls one but I need to see the Hair and Chess ones

WOW SETH!!! *bows to the master* AMAZING I cannot get over the power, belt, tones, quality, and the emotion that they put into this, its a great arrangement. This has always been a favorite song of mine, and when I heard this I just jumped up and down, this put Black Boys to shame haha

Seth, I know this is an older video, but I love how incredibly into it you get. You can tell that this project was truly one of your babies. This soundtrack was one of the best recordings of a musical (concert or not!) to come out in the last decade. It's how I first discovered Raul Esparza. How can we fans ever thank you enough?!
My teacher showed us your video in theater class. Now I'm home and watching.

Wow, crazy. My parents were watching tv when I wanted to fangirl about the FOX Upfronts and last night's Office. I turned to look at the tv AND I SEE YOU! On CashCab. And I was all "I know who that is!" Then I told them about your deconstruction videos and how I've been waiting anxiously for the next one - and here it is! I'm magic.
Yet another great deconstruction, Seth! I would go into detail but I'm gonna end up babbling and miss my show (Battlestar Galactica!)

This is definately my favorite deconstruction I've watched (which is all the ones on your youtube and site). Not sure why. I just love it! After watching this for the first time months ago, I listened to this song over and over and not just because the Actor's Fund version is my favorite version of Hair!

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but i like black boys from this cd better. Those ladies are so much more controlled, strong, non shouty voices. I appreciate the unbelievable talent of both sets of ladies but i always thought black boys got an unfair shake, white boys is a far superior song in itself. But the 3 who did black boys raised it to amazing levels, and i find myself
