This just absolutely proves they can play anything.
Thank you *Big_Al_63* for spreading the word of *BAND-MAID* 🍺😁

_The Carrier Pigeons delivering the message of _*_BAND-MAID_*_ to the World_
Band-Maid is the master of any genre they choose! Often many in one song!
How can anyone NOT love this song?? Akane's shuffling and MISA's melodic playing along with Saiki and Miku's vocals are so much fun. I also love Mincho's piano throughout. So glad you enjoyed it!
I Love "Start Over" although it's a highly divisive song within the fandom. I think it's in a great expression of Akane's early percussive skills and a foreshadowing of what was to come.
I know I'm most likely alone in this but I'd love to hear more Band-Maid where they realize less just might be more!!
Plus 1 of the best thing about this Songs MV is that Saiki knew the haters and critics would come out of the woodwork after this song so dhe put the haters on blast with the final lyric!
Legend ❤️💛💚💙💖
Greatest ending lyric... @7:09 😍😍
I love this song! Thanks brother! Your reactions are epic!
Onya Big Al, this is such a great song and as always B-M drifts effortlessly across genres, love this band so much, have a Miku bouncy weekend coming up and cheers from down under 👍🍻
@brunobryant4846 I just agree with whatever Big Al says cos Big Al is sooo BIG that i don't want to upset him. That's why i'm also subscribed to him :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 😁 sounds eminently sensible 👍🍻
@@brunobryant4846 Us Maidiacs aren't fools, Bruno. 🤔Nope i'm not making that sound plausible am i.🤣
@@GaryHolloway-810 Utterly convincing GH 👍😁
The old *Start Over*
A under rated song for me. Not all songs need to riff into infinity..
Jazzy laid back, another side to the Maids that I can really appreciate.
❤🔥❤🔥
"It's very simple" BAND-MAID being BAND-MAID, so much talent it's verging on illegal what a fcken band Po 👍🍻
A really good pop-rock song. Saiki wants to say at the end: "If you don't like it, you will still like it.". They played Start Over at their concert on August 30. Thanks, man.
From Japan
They wrote this song as a song that would be easy to sing at karaoke. Jazzy, melodious, and the playing is great. In the video, the broken things are rebuilt and the love between the two is restored, also the last words seem to indicate a complicated reality and can be interpreted in many different ways. I like this music video.
I think this is called kintsugi in Japan, right? I agree with you, it's a great song and video.
I love Dirty Loops! Great call out there, Ords. Both bands have combinations of pop and technical elements, and it's great.
Kanami seems to be able to compose just about anything the band wants, and the members just take off with it. This song was released as a single (as someone mentioned above, the band wanted a simple song that could be sung at Karaoke), and if you want to be surprised yet again at their versatility and creativity, you should have listen to the B side song called "Screaming." "Screaming" will have you muttering, "Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things" lol.
🥳 🙌🥂 6K🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🍺🥴
That ending lyric over a very pleasant piano melody. Awesome
I think Akane’s drum part in this song is fantastic. Tasty beats and really cool drum fills. So versatile! All the parts in this fit so nicely!!
I can't wait for the day when Saiki plays the piano part.
Notice that there is not a Kanami solo in this…but great piano intro.
This single release is A side “Start Over” radio friendly…B side “Screaming” metal chaos. That’s one you need to checkout!
Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things going from end of musical spectrum to another.
🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Woo Hoo!!! Gratz on 6k.
🤘🤘🤘
These ladies would make Phil sharpen his carrot into a full pencil.
I know there’s a lot of irrational hate for the MV, but the MV fits the song perfectly! It’s a cheesy, relationship on the rocks pop song and it absolutely nails the music video for a song about a relationship on the rocks. It’s like they took every song of this type’s music video and perfectly mimicked them at their core. If it was anything else it would betray the meaning and vibe of the song.
One may not like the video, but there is no denying it is the perfect music video for the song. For a band that nails the music video the vast majority of the time, this is an easy top three if not number one for perfectly encapsulating the song.
I don't know who the designer of the Band-Maid MVs is. It may not be the same person but there is a very developed and high quality artistic sense in all of Band-Maid's MVs. This shoot must have been quite expensive according to Mitsu the male actor of Start Over.
Miku is the master communicator, even in multiple languages. And she's taking what COULD be a 'standard makeup song' and turning it into something very complicated, and with not the ending you expect. You know, like life. Also interesting to remember, all these women come from divorced homes. So the groove and realistic approach to relationships, not normal, but it's Miku.
From Japan
I think Kanami's parents weren't divorced. Miku was born into a remarried family, but her father disappeared when she was in junior high school.
Kanami, Akane, and MISA are big jazz aficionados.
Dirty Loops are awesome! I was at work when I first played this. When Saiki dropped the F bomb I looked around like "Did I just hear that?" Fortunately I was alone.
This song reminds me of Matchbox 20
Don't know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that this song was written in response to some fans saying there were no Band-Maid songs they could sing at karaoke. This is what Kanami came up with.
I feel like I've seen a few different explanations for style of the song, but the one I remember people talking about was writer's block. So it was suggested to try writing something different. According to Miku it was written with easy to sing lyrics for karaoke. As for the lyrics, for me, it's kind of talking about the good and ugly side of relationships. At their best it's beautiful and at it's worst it's ugly, showing that love is complicated.
4:47 The follow up to this song is HATE? 🤣🤣🤣
Not the typical B-M song, but this one is in my top 20. And if you don’t agree, « I don’t give a fuck »
🕊️🎶🎶🎶🎶
Soo close ords , the I don't give a fuck song po!
Big_Al is the newest of the Carrier Pigeons! 🍺🥴🤘🏻🕊️
ROOOOOGGGGEEEER 🤪 very dusty today had a big B-M and beer night 😁👍🍻
@@brunobryant4846 Bruuuuunoooo 🍺🍺🍻🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻🍻🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻🍻🍻🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻🍻🍺🍺🍺🍻🍺🍻 🍺🥴
While not my favorite style of Band Maid, I’d buy an entire album in this style in a second. It’s fantastic for what it is.
Kanami's jazz roots are obvious in this tune.
"I don't give a fuck!" - Saiki Atsumi
The meaning is, band-maid CAN DO ANYTHING, and I love this song PO!
What did he do to her? He lost her copy of World Domination, and that was that. Thankfully, he summoned a Black Hole and reversed time. Now he can "do over fresh." He'll just F it up again though.
Great reaction again Ord. This song has created some disturbances in the force in the Band-Maid galaxy.🤣 Personally, I love the song. But I know some of the "pure" rock and and metal people hate this song. Growing up in the 80's and 90's, this would have been prefect for radio play setlist I sometimes listened to. But, like everything else with music, it all comes to personal taste whether you love, like or dislike the song. And BTW, I had the same reaction when Saiki dropped that F bomb. Prior to that, for the most part everything was so "clean" in my Band-Maid universe. I mean, the pushed it with "Don't let me down", but the end of this one. Mouth dropped and I did the same thing...replayed it to make sure I heard what I heard.😆 Man...keep on rocking with the Maids. Your enthusiasm toward their music is amazing. I wish everyone to have the same experience. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
7:13 Of course She said - Hello, how are you😏🤭and enjoy START OVER😁
Like your reference to Aron Mellergård in Dirty Loops. (You are not allowed to compare Akane to any less epic drummer than that!) The intro actually could sound a bit like something Aron could have played.
I really like this song. But then again I like everything from Ai to Jonetsu no Matador to Show Them.
Lead Vocals - Saiki is my Queen
Lead Guitar- Kanami is my Princess
Drums - Akane is my Godess
Rythm Guitar - Miku is my Inspiration
Bass - MISA is my Soul
PS. Ords, you still haven't gotten back to me whether you received my super thanks for Don't Be Long
They don't use profanity often but use it sparingly for more impact like at the end of Hate? or Saiki yelling "LETS GO FUCKING CRAZY" at live shows to hype up the crowd. as if we needed to get any more hype lol
Just an amazing song, and then the bonus track on the CD is Screaming which is about as far away from Start Over musically that you can get.
Dirty Loops is what Phil makes in his Turtles underoos if he had too many crunch wrap supremes
Yes, It's pop, but I love it. If this were translated to English, I bet it would be a top-pop video.
This song gets a lot of hate because of the bad video and because of it being a pop song (how dare they write a pop song), but it's a really good song. It's BAND-MAID pop, which is always better. I love that they have dusted it off in recent concerts. Let the haters suffer for four minutes. 😁
I love Band-Maid's "Start Over" because I'm into great writing, playing and well-constructed songs. But the jewelry store ad MV... not so much. Songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile can help them more than most of their catalog to become more approachable and widely accepted by the general public. Thx Ords!
There is a Netflix movie named "Kate" (I haven't ever seen it so what it's about I don't know) and Band-Maid appeared and had a couple of songs in it. Thus the blonde haired lady in the video. Created more than a few new Maid fans.
Not related. Start Over was 2018 and movie Kate was 2021. An enjoyable movie if you like revenge assassin...like female John Wick vibe.
One of my skips. I don't skip any other Band-Maid videos but I lived with crazy once many years ago, never again.
Really don't like the video, but the song just goes to show that there is no musical style that they can't play exceedingly well.
