    Thank you for the contribution 👍 Actually, this already worked properly with the plugins from the Fraunhofer Institute. In my opinion it's not necessarily a great added value. Because the number of channels in the MPEG-H file is always mentioned, I can only repeat 😉: If you want more objects with a speaker layout of 7.1.4 under MPEG-H, you should use Spacelab from Fiedler Audio with the associated MPEG -Use H Exporter (developed by the Fraunhofer Institute). The MPEG exporter outputs the "absolute" speaker positions as objects. The real objects from Spacelab are “embedded” in these speaker objects. So it's a different approach to using MPEG-H, especially for music, which I personally find brilliant.

      Thanks! The Mpeg-H exporter also export level 3, so 16 channels. I like the Fiedler Audio stuff but I’m not sure what the advantage would be here.

      @@michaelgwagner These 16 channels of the MPEG-H exporter are not the channel structure of a bed as shown in the video. It's now getting too confusing for RUclips. I'll describe it in a little more detail directly in Discord. 🙂

    New Dolby in PT is great btw. Testing it now.

      Yes, looking forward to playing around with it.

      @@michaelgwagner I was slammed on a series, but will update today as I got caught up and sent off first EPI for review, so time to do it! The Plugin Cache is really great with how fast it loads ProTools now for one along with the new Movie Bounce feature! So many things to mention. A great start for the start of next year!

    It's a nice alternative to the Dolby Atmos workflow. I've noticed that nothing goes to the LFE channel and I'm wondering how we can "populate" that channel. I was thinking about a solution that I've tried but didn't work. Like in other workflows I 'we just added a new track with a low pass filter and adding additional routing to the channels that have low frequency sound toward this track with the use of the ReaSurroundPanner I'we tried to "redirect" the filtered low frequency sounds into the LFE channel but with no success. Can you tell how this should be done?

      That’s the way you would do that. Make sure that the Renderer also renders the LFE. I think by default it ignores it for binaural monitoring.

    Yay! Thanks for the insight on this. I've been seriously looking into releasing content using this workflow and youve brought up a bunch of tips i want to implement.

      I've been creating microphone demos for my students with it - you see someone speaking into an array of mics, and use a switch group to select which one is heard. I think what would help will be when a standalone player app is available (currently you need to install the player from the suite to view content, which makes it harder to share in a RUclips style of way).

    You didn't mention or post a link to your podcast. I'm cooking at the moment, and was looking forward to tuning in for the first time.

    Have you got anywhere with the dynamic gain feature? It's always greyed out for me, no matter what's in my project. I spoke to Fraunhofer who offered some suggestions, but no luck yet.

    Hi Michael, thanks so much for all your work.
    In the export/ render process the 59,94 fps was selected as the frame rate in the FHIIS plugin.
    How come when you open it later in the player the frame rate was 24fps?

      Very perceptive. I might have edited it somewhere. Framerate is not that important in this example. Just choose whatever is appropriate for your project.

    hey michael, is thier anyway to pan left or right with the L/R separated at a specific distance between them?, i cant seem to figure out how to do it with reapers automation parameters or in the MPEG-H Authoring plugin. And does mpeg-h authoring suite/plugins/reaper allow binaural export to .wav?

    • @michaelgwagner
      @michaelgwagner  5 месяцев назад +1

      You would have to use objects in yhe plugin and they shoild be automatable. And yes, the plugin can render binaural.
