  • In this video, I discuss a random comic book thought I had recently while visiting a local comic shop here in Minnesota. Are comic book run packs a clever or sneaky way for comic book shops to unload some of their non-key issue inventory by bundling them with key issues?

I've picked up mini series this way from my LCS. I agree with how it's a toss up with not being able to see condition of everything. Once I bought a full run on ebay but had pics of everything.

I don't think there's anything sneaky about it. Individual issues from a mini-series can be really difficult to sell, especially if they are non-keys. By selling them as a bundle they are appealing to the completionist, or to someone who simply may want to read the entire story.
