  • Some new camera angles showing views of my N gauge layout, Wrenton, from above the back scene. Also some shots taken from just above the layout - living dangerously with the iPad or phone almost touching the scenery!

    A beautifully detailed and filmed layout. It first caught my eye as I live near Renton!, an actual village between Dumbarton and Alexandria in Scotland. Great work.

      Thanks Davie. I think there's a Wrenton in the States but I couldn't find one in the UK. Near miss for your village, though!

    Loved the new angle shots Roger, your layout is always a pleasure to watch. I see so many things I wish to copy.
    Your eye for detail is amazing and I just love looking at the houses and that wonderful church.
    Regards Chris.

    Hi Roger. I think I preferred the eye-level views in your earlier videos (each to his own).

    • @rogerdB
      @rogerdB  2 года назад

      Low level views will always look more realistic, I think. Perhaps a removable back-scene would allow more camera angles, something I'm thinking about for a new, small layout I'm starting.

      @@rogerdB Yes, like the idea. Another N gauge layout?

    • @rogerdB
      @rogerdB  2 года назад

      Just a small one - 5' x 1'6". But using Finetrax and generally trying to up the standard in other respects. Progress is very slow, though.

      Seeing this layout from a different angle is appreciated by me so I'm glad he made this video..

    I still want to build a lay out like this but I keep asking myself, after it is done, what do you do with it ? You just drive some trains around ? Is a serious question

    • @rogerdB
      @rogerdB  2 года назад +2

      Some people do enjoy driving trains around their layout. For me it's the pleasure of building something to the best of my ability that matters most. In the case of Wrenton it was five years of pleasure - and an occasional back ache!

    • @jefwisse1957
      @jefwisse1957 Год назад

      Building a model railway is never done. There are always things that can be improved. However on Rogers layout I can't discover things that need improvement. The only thing he can do is to expand his layout (if that's possible).

      @@rogerdB I agree with you Roger, building stuff yourself is the best way to enjoy yourself and it is also the most satisfying.
