      Just replaced the door handles too. Not quite as simple, but WAY easier than most folks on the web make it out to be. Of course, video coming soon 😎

    I’m 18 and have owned my 98 TJ for only a couple years. Stumbled upon this after watching how to replace the door handles. There was no under hood light when I picked my Jeep up but I’m now excited to get one

      Awesome! Happy to help. Enjoy your Jeep. You'll love it. Granted, you'll work on it a lot, but you'll still love it.

    I got rid of that stupid red lock lever. It broke anyway while I was trying to unhook the connection. The red lever was a pain in the butt! My advice to anyone is to get rid of it.

    Thanks. Just what I was looking for. Mine doesn't have the light and I was curious about the lead.

    If I let this light on by accident for a day or two, would that drain the battery?

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  Год назад +1

      It's possible (if you left the hood up). But it would take at least 2+ days I would think. They don't draw a lot of power, but they are older style bulbs.

      Yes - that is what happened. That tiny light was on for a couple days and drained the battery - that's surprising to me!

    Mine burned out and I looked everywhere for a switch, had no idea it was self activated.

      As long as you got it fixed, that is all that matters. Stay well.

    I kind of miss my Jeep Wrangler, but don't miss the horrible gas mileage 😄

      What? You don't like 16mpg? I guess you get used to it after 18 years...

    Remove those! mine got stuck on the "on" position and drained my battery! there are way better options when you need an engine light under the hood!
