  • My Weight Loss Journey: From 429 Pounds to a Healthier Life
    Welcome to my channel, where I document my journey to better health. Back in 2021, I weighed 429 pounds. I had obstructive sleep apnea and high blood pressure at 157 over 94. Walking was difficult, and I suffered from severe back and leg pain.
    To improve my health, I started fasting and walking 5,000 to 10,000 steps a day. My lowest weight was 346 pounds, and as of Wednesday, July 24, 2024, I am 370 pounds. My ultimate goal is to reach 189 pounds and then maintain a stable weight of 200 pounds.
    Although I still have sleep apnea, it has been improving. My blood pressure now averages between 120 and 130, which is great, considering the normal range for my age is around 135. I've made significant changes to my diet, focusing on homemade meals and cutting out processed sugars.
    Here are some of the health issues I currently deal with:
    - High cholesterol
    - A broken fifth metatarsal in my right leg
    - Sleep apnea
    - Vitamin D deficiency
    Despite these challenges, I’m surprised and grateful that I do not have other conditions often associated with being overweight or morbidly obese, such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, or cancer. Additionally, I do not drink or smoke. I only consume alcohol if it's medicinal, and I never do drugs or recommend them.
    I focus heavily on both my mental and physical health, dedicating 50% of my efforts to each. I believe that mental health is the key to unlocking and addressing everything that’s wrong with me. I am an emotional eater, tending to eat more when I'm happy and even more when I'm sad. However, I am making progress and have completely cut out white, ultra-processed sugar from my diet. Occasionally, I do consume some sugar, but it’s not the highly processed kind.
