I'm honestly just gonna phrase it like this, it did the same thing as zo (a sword fighting game), zo started off pretty solid, then it got more and more greedy with p2w aspects and skins to the point where it just died off entirely

For those who have low attention span and want to know why blade ball start it's downfall so here it is:
    1. Blade ball copied deflect, deflect is inspired by genji ball in overwatch, and genji ball is inspired by pyro dodgeball
    2. It's Toxic Community
    3. The owner is money hungry, like really REALLY greedy
And 4. Content creators allowed to auto click (which is pretty unfair ngl)

Back when this game first released, I adored the concept, and spent every bit of Robux I had unlocking all the skins and abilities, as this game genuinely was addicting.
At that time I think I spent around ~2k to unlock nearly everything the game had to offer, and I was pleased with this rate, it didn't seam unfair and felt like I was getting my money's worth.
Fast forward to a couple weeks later with the introduction of Infinity and I instantly stopped playing Blade Ball. The reason? The unlocking method required you to purchase 2 game-passes 3 TIMES IN A ROW in order to unlock it. While unlocking nearly everything in the game would only cost me ~2k, this SINGLE unlock costs 12k ROBUX. They were overstepping their boundaries right then and there, and were creating absurdly unfair rates, for an overpowered item.
I tried a different approach to this, gambling away my Robux to see if I could unlock those game-passes for a much cheaper price via the wheel spin. Rigged rates there. Spent about 6k Robux attempting to unlock the item at a 100 robux per spin rate (or something like that), and I only landed on a game-pass tile ONCE, when it was allegedly a 1/3 chance.
It's clear that they are exploiting their player-base. I checked back in the game recently and was met with little kids on their mics begging people to gift them skins, due to the now absurd prices.
    Very disappointed!!! Mak game good....

As someone who first played Blade Ball just a few months ago and still plays it today, I really loved the game's mechanics and the rewards you get for winning. However, I was instantly disgusted when the Halloween update came around, and it forced you to pay up to get the sword skin that you would unlock after completing DAYS worth of daily tasks just to get it. Oh, and the scythe skin as well? You could only get that through completing daily activities five times in a row, which you can only do by spending either Robux on all four resets, or pay 10k gold 3 times and then pay Robux the final time to get the scythe skin. Even with LITERALLY applying gambling into the game just to get a money-only ability or a sword skin just completely threw the game out of the window. I still play it sometimes, but any time I see someone using a pay-to-win skin, I *might* leave. However, in most cases, instead I'll screw around with someone using Infinity by using Swap to throw them off guard, use Forcefield or Pull.

This game reminds me a lot of a multipurpose brick. When it was born, it was new and creative , attracting many people. But as more sales of the bricks began, the inventor wanted to exploit the customers for money by making bricks that were much more expensive that had more uses, easily bypassing the cheaper bricks in popularity. Eventually, the price of the new bricks become so high nobody wants to buy them anymore, and so the multipurpose brick lost sales and eventually became unheard of.

4:00 I'll admit to being one of those players who don't like copycats, but Blade Ball is a special exception. I recently made a video comparing Deflect and Blade Ball, and I listed out all the reasons why I thought Blade Ball is superior to Deflect in many ways. Because it's not about who did it first; it's about who did it right.

I mean, depends on what you mean by copycats. There are a lot of games that just follow a specific genre or trend or simply just take inspiration from other games that are considered copies for whatever reason. It's annoying to see as a developer, all of these people saying these games are copies when they all have distinct characteristics that separate one another.

i am not specifically speaking about skin, im talking about the toxic p2w community, also dont forget the abilities like infinity are like impossible to get due to its rarity nature however it is obtainable if enough robux is invested in it. the sword skins aren't half bad but its the other aspects of the game that makes it unfair, on top the sfx for limited weapons are custom and sound good whereas any common or legendary weapons in bladeball have default sfx, so its kind of unfair even if its "just aesthetics"
      @@player_1759

  • @lilsquiddle1964
    @lilsquiddle1964 7 месяцев назад

    Let me tell you something.
There was a skin that was released a while back. It was a futuristic blaster. Instead of the normal (approximately) 499 Robux for a sword skin, you had to pay 79 Robux for a spin to get a chance at getting the skin, with other measly and pathetic rewards flooding the wheel. You had a 2% chance of getting the first skin, and a guaranteed chance after 50 spins, although the first time you bought a spin per day was 49 Robux. With that bonus, that's 3920 Robux if you aren't lucky (or you realize that the odds may be lying).
There are 2 more skins, both following the same formula.
I don't specifically recall how many days long the event was, but assuming you were to buy them all in the same day, that would amount to 11850 Robux for 3 skins that do nothing.
On top of that, the Christmas event (a reskin of the Halloween vent) was still going on, where if I had to give an estimate as to how much Robux you'd have to spend to get the ability (which required getting 2 skins and an emote I believe) since the odds are about 5%-10% per item and each spin is about 79 Robux or 2000 coins, assuming you spend Robux since it isn't feasibly possible to get that many coins to be able to get all 3 items, that's about 3160 Robux for the 2 5% items (1560 Robux each item) and 790 Robux for the 10% item, totaling 3950 Robux. Reminder, that these are average rates based on what I remember to be the percentages of the items as well as the average rate of winning the spin wheel, meaning it could take many more spins to get one of these items.
And on top of *THAT*, there's also the battle pass which has some of the most absurd quests, such as gifting a Robux item to somebody (a minimum of 60 Robux, as that's the cheapest product in the shop, a handful of coins). Staying in the game a concurrent hour or a total 2-3 hours, winning at least 100 games, winning 20 ranked matches (each match takes about 5-10 minutes since they're split into 2 rounds, meaning a total 100 minutes or hour and 40 minutes of playing ranked matches at the minimum), or killing 15 players, which can be very hard to do if the ball doesn't come towards you or somebody else takes the kill.
No worries, though. You can always pay for experience or to skip forward levels, which will almost always cost you at least 1000 Robux to skip ahead, and from what I recall the minimum XP purchase price is about 300-400 Robux.
Let's add all of this together.
11850 Robux for the blaster skins, 3950 Robux for the special ability and it's items, and an approximate 1500 Robux for the battle pass. That's 17300 Robux.
    That's about $216.25.
It takes you $216.25 to get every one of these items, at LEAST. If that isn't P2W, I don't know what is.
TL;DR: Sword skins amount to 11850 Robux, Christmas ability amounts to 3950 Robux and battle pass amounts to about 1500 Robux. Blade Ball is more P2W than every Pet Simulator and Adopt Me combined.

3 reasons why blade ball shouldn’t exist
    1. The greediness of the owners
    2. The new event (this is when I watched this)
    3. The spins and crates being impossible to get good stuff
    4. ME LITERALLY CLICKING THE BALL AND IT DIDNT REGISTER
    5. INFINITY ITS SO POWERFUL

The wheel, sci-fi spins are a waste of robux. But the battle pass is the only thing that does not required an insane amount of robux and no gambling for new abilities, sword skins, and emotes. Limited are still getting expensive and f2p players and unfair to them compared to rich players. This is based on my experience.

It honestly isn't surprising at this point. When a game gets popular with young audiences, the creator or creators just becomes more and more corporate and commercialist. Especially in competitive games with competitive players. Take Pixel Gun 3D, what started out as a beloved childhood FPS game, slowly but surely turned into a P2W cesspool. I have no doubt that within a couple of months, Blade Ball will meet the same fate as so many other respected games.

every update innovates like no other roblox game, you gotta agree, some of these new game modes are really innovative and fun, the devs listen to the community’s feedback and had listened to game modes made by the community and added them into the game, even though there are insanely p2w features, the p2w abilities are only for the 0.01 percent which own them, and additionally the cosmetics are just cosmetics and shouldn’t be complained about. Also, infinity can be countered with skill, (certain abilities). Plus, the rest of the game is f2p, and at the end of the day, it’s a skill-based game, and no p2w can change that.

a lot of kids games are like this. since kids can just ask for money whenever they want and have no bills to pay and whatever, they are basically the richest online people. but they are also the dumbest, paying 50 bucks for items without thinking, so developers just overprice everything because they know kids wont care a bit. it gets even worse when they introduce a gambling thing because thats just setting kids up for gambling scams in the future

This guy is a gigachad for mentioning Genji ball and Pyro ball.
Games about timing I feel have no place in Roblox, due to lag from many variables, high ping, mobile, bad PC, and even low ping can give you lag if the server is laggy or you face someone who’s laggy. Not to mention the delay Roblox has, me and my friends who have very good timing and reaction times straight up cannot play the game without messing up our timing and reaction times because we have to block very early in stead of almost timing it amazingly well in a short window due to the game’s lag rewarding piss poor timing over good timing, not to mention how the game loads new maps every single match as soon as people spawn, my friend can run Fortnite pretty well and he still has a massive lag spike whenever a new map loads because it doesn’t even load before the match starts, even if the map doesn’t change the game still forces you to reload it, it’s incredibly dumb, it’s not a problem in other games where you usually have a good amount of time for the map to load and ping isn’t a high priority, but it isn’t good for a game that requires many variables in order to play well, especially if the person who gets lag spikes starts out with the ball or gets attacked immediately.

Even though I still like blade ball it's just mean to completely copy someone else's hard work, at least make a big change or give credits which they didn't give ANY credits to whom they've copied off of, and to think that these devs are so MONEY HUNGRY. Making you pay to win in these recent Halloween and Christmas updates, making everyone grind for it which is what these devs want. It's vile and some of us can't even have fun because of it's P2W updates. Hopefully in the future they can change this.

I played blade ball a few weeks before it blew up, around the time when it averaged less than 10k players. And what I enjoyed about it was that it wasn’t pay to win, but since it grew in players I had to watch its demise. I remember first seeing game passes showing up, which I thought was fair since they needed to make money, but soon the unbalanced game passes made me quit the game. Just wanted to say that because I felt like it.

  • @mrscrunklebot

Death ball (Someone’s own take on Death Ball) is also a bit pay to win with exclusive packs for skins and some p2w characters, but the characters you DO have to pay for are still balanced compared to the free to play ones and the skin packs don’t effect gameplay much. I think it’s a million times better than the crap on blade ball if you guys wanna find a fun alternative. It even looks better than Blade Ball’s gui by a mile as well as superior VFX and easier controls. There’s also a much less toxic community too and pro servers don’t require 50 wins, rather only 15.

see blade ball went down hill when a developer called moldy joined the team.
now i have nothing against moldy except the fact he was a dev at voldex which is known to make p2w games.
the idea here is that moldy was the one who influenced the p2w saga in blade ball.
also when moldy was a dev at voldex he worked on zo making it p2w. and when he left voldex to join blade ball the game suddenly became a lot more high quality and the p2w aspect started going away slowly

I completely agree with all of the statements in this video. I do agree that the community is very toxic, and that the devs got very money hungry about making money about making very over powered abilities such as infinity, and making you craft ability with other items that cost robux. The one thing that I just don't understand though is that why do players always care about if the game is original or not? I can understand if the game is p2w, (which the game is) but I just don't understand what is the point of quitting when the game is just a copy?

bladeball literally only wants money. thats all the devs are concerned about. please take a careful look at this artical, as im sure you cant agree better to what im about to say:
    1. p2w - bladeball devs just want greed and money over their player's happiness. take for example, this vid was posted 3 months ago (from when im watching it). there are also a ton more of other famous content creators who made vids about the same topic, and many have mention bladeball devs and p2wness.
    2. not changing or caring about their community - bladeball surely have come over across some of these blade ball downfall vids, as they are growing quite viral and get many views. many people also must have complained about this problem of devs being p2w, but they have obviously IGNORED us and TOTALLY DONT CARE. not only have they added "Lunar new year spins", a new DRAGON ability that is ABSOLUTELY OVERPOWERED AND P2W, but they also added ADDS into a game. Adds. In. A. Roblox. Game. This proves that they just want more money no matter what people say, to the point where they have a freaking VIDEO of an ADD in their lobby. This is ridiculous, im asking for a refund of all my items. DISGUSTING.

Guys in my opinion the reason blade ball fell off to me and my friends was that the game only wanted your money. theres another thing that probably makes the game had its downfall
    time.
you see, theres something called a Wheel Spin in blade ball
its only accessible by 30 mins or 15 mins
and this caused MANY, MANY players to rejoin after they get the final playtime reward since its gonna reset once you rejoined
and theres one ability that had a really huge advantage called rapture
rapture is basically like the ability raging deflect, but has a longer cooldown and higher power
the players kept doing it over and over again until some realised that its not worth it and they spent most of their time getting just a single ability
and idk if this is correct, but time = money, more time = more money
and with the amount of unfair gamepasses and abilities that are only affordable in events which is an unfair sight for the new players, not to mention the combination of p2w abilities and unfair items.
take Phantom for example, it needs a sword THAT ISNT EVEN HUMANLY POSSIBLE TO GET EVEN IF YOU HAVE 50 TRIES plus INFINITY!
the devs are just GREEDY, its like ANY other popular game in the old days, like Zo Samurai. (thanks gavman0208 for the idea)
the devs continue to make more unfair gamepasses to the game and put it at high prices, until the game is either taken down or reaches its final stage of downfall.
so thats my theory... if you even call that a theory
