Air of the Whale - Ty Alexander Huynh

This could be the theme song for the whales. I was inspired to write this bagpipe air from the story behind the Irish song Port na bPúcaí (Song of the Fairies). The composer, Muiris Ó Dálaigh, is said to have been fishing with friends at night off the coast of Ireland when they heard strange melodies coming through the hull of their boat. They didn't know what the sound was, but he composed Port na bPúcaí afterwards. Now we know it is likely the song of humpback whales they heard, so my song emphasizes that. You'll notice there are no whales in the video, like the composer's original experience, however I feature the whales prominently at the beginning of my novel, Aching Prosperity. Hope you enjoy it all.
