The correct response was to cut the conversation from very first sentence where he started dumping and as he said, go seek professional help and block the guy. Him continuing to read through the guy's baggage and continue to respond is pretty irresponsible and kind of brain dead imo. Like its already weird that you have DM's on for people who aren't mutuals considering this is likely his youtube discord account. The whole youtuber discord thing as concept has always been weird to me, but at least its a public online space where most people wouldn't feel like start venting about their life and trauma dumping randomly like this person this for everybody in their community to see(im sure there would be some, but not as likely). But Creators who allow their fans access to be able interact with them so easily and personally has always just been a strange thing to me. Like I'm old by internet standards (29) and when I was growing up watching RUclips in my teens, it was very much not common for creators to interact personally with their audience outside of like comments, events, maybe an email here in there but that's about it. But With creators leaving their dms open on Twitter, insta , Discord pretty much giving anybody access to speak to you in a personal DM i feel as just enabled this extreme parasocial culture people to think that its ok to just dm their favorite content creator like they were homies. Idk just my 2 cents
TL:DR people need to stop thinking creators are their friends and creators need to set better boundaries and keeping access to their direct dms more private
