Staying private seems like a better option than public companies for the employees because it allows them to provide better benefits versus worrying about the bottom line and what the shareholders think. This is why they were voted top 100 company to work for.
Not just private but zero leverage and no owners that don’t work in the company. Even being sold to private equity the company is run down to shit and employees are smart to leave because all the perks that allowed them to grow are over with. Even users of the product should seek to leave when one of these things happen.

I really enjoyed this presentation on the background and history of Fidelity's roots. I've invested through Fidelity since the early 1990's...I remember Peter Lynch being their spokesperson on all marketing materials. They promoted investing in a true and steady fashion...focusing on the long term, rather than jumping on the latest temporary trend or newest financial gimmick.
Some pointed out that at 0:52, China couldn't be the reason the steel industry was facing pressure in the 70s. I was skeptical when researching too. But after reading the report published by the U.S. government at the time (books.google.com/books?id=lLG-RgUMYFUC ) , China was the 5th largest steel producer. But since it was coming out of the cultural revolution, the growth of the steel industry was faster than any other country, at an incredibly cheap cost. That is what created competitive pressure.
In the context of Kaiser Steel in the 1980s, I don't think it was competition from China that was the issue - it was Japan. China did not come onto the steel export scene significantly until the 2000s, even having a trade DEFICIT with the United States in steel until the mid to late 2000s.

Many investors/traders advice - that at the start of the bear market, you should sell and buy later on. My question - How do they know at the beginning of the correction - whether stocks would fall by 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% or more?
@Chris john You are rignt! I diversified my $550K portfolio across various market with the aid of an investment advisor, I have been able to generate a little bit above $1.4m in net profit across high dividend yield stocks, ETF and bonds during this red season.
I'll compliment you on all the work you did with this, but I think there's a fair bit that's been left out. For instance how has the business changed under Abigail Johnson? Private investments they've made such as their investment into SpaceX. I think going into the Qualitative vs Quantitative shift of management, and also going further into the way they dodged the 2008 crash by not going into banking. 401k management is more than half of their assets too. Seems like maybe this could have been part 1 of a 2 or 3 part series.

Many investors/traders advice - that at the start of the bear market, you should sell and buy later on. My question - How do they know at the beginning of the correction - whether stocks would fall by 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% or more?
Stock market is the only place where people
leave when there's massive discount sale
happening.
Your assertion that as we age we
become more risk averse rings so much true
to me. Can you recommend any fiduciary
Financial Advisor?
@Chris john You are rignt! I diversified
my $550K portfolio across various market
with the aid of an investment advisor, I have
been able to generate a little bit above
$1.4m in net profit across high dividend
yield stocks, ETF and bonds during this red
season.
Your documentaries are what I wait for.
Absolutely love tour work
I find it very strange that even safe treasury- & inflation-protected bonds ARE down more than any year since 234 years ago.
Yesssss!!!!!! Omg ive been waiting So LONGGGG
thanks for ur videos
The background music of Succession at the end is so fitting to the theme (Abby in an effort to remove her dad).

Man these are all fire! Wish you posted more
I'll compliment you on all the work you did with this, but I think there's a fair bit that's been left out.
Amazing video.Thank very much .
Great job make a video on Vanguard

I opened my first Fidelity account in the early 90s when I was 10. First best financial move I made, thanks to my uncle telling me to. 👍
Glad you’re back 👍👍
Good doc bro .. keep it up
It's hard to make money here just relying on the market, you need to have some judgment of your own, maybe we can share some of each other's investment experience
Thanks @FINAiUS for all the great videos! Keep them coming! Much honor!
Amazing production quality
