- Limon hosts the "black cities" of Costa Rica. Unlike the Pacific Coast, this province along the Caribbean Coast is heavily populated with descendants of Jamaican immigrants who worked the early banana plantations from as early as 1850s.
Check out our other video when we went to look for "The Jamaicans of Costa Rica". There is even a "Jamaica Town" there that the locals pointed us to.
Go check out this place in Costa Rica where locals spoke the Jamaican dialect, "patwah" or patois and eat the Jamaican foods.
It will be an amazing experience for you.
Thank You for visiting my country, nice video 👍❤️. Pura Vida
Pura Vida. It was a complete pleasure. The people, the food, the vibe.. everything was simply amazing having the Churchil. We have quite a spread of videos we havent uploaded yet like heading to El Tigre as well as Santa Elena cloud forests. Just be sure to like and subscribe and turn on notifications so you can check them out too. I am going to upload a video short of part of the trek. Follow @TopflightTV on Fscebook and you will see so many more. Have a better than amazing day. And Pura Vida
Stunningly good looking black woman narrating. I'm also of Jamaican heritage - both sides. I'm seriously thinking of visiting CR for a holiday in place of a trip to Jamaica.
Thank You for the compliment. You Should go to CR... it was so much fun. You won't regret it. Be sure to look for Jamaica Town. It is nestled in Limon near Playa Bonita Beach. Also if you make it to Puerto Viejo, you will meet more folks sounding like Jamaicans but who are actually just descendants.
Hi, lovely video! What was the bakery called, if you can recall/recommend?
Thank You. We stopped at a local restaurant and a fruit stand... not sure of a bakery but if there was one, it would be by Main Street next to the Fruit Stand. A lot stores were by there.
I loving what I can see, but your camera is moving too fast and up and down to fast - please be slow & smooth so we can see what you see and enjoy
OK. Will definitely take that into consideration next time. Appreciate the feedback.
