First of all, what an insult and disappointment that Beah Richards, (a wonderfully gifted actress) photograph was posted instead of actress Ruby Dee as the wife of Ossie Davis. Secondly, I had the pleasure of seeing Purlie Victorious last night at the Music Box Theater with Leslie Odom, Jr. and it was absolutely phenomenal from start to finisih. They received a standing ovation, well deserved. Whoever is responsible for that HUGE ERROR, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. We do not ALL look alike.

👏🏾👏🏾🌹🌹❣️❣️ Such a gifted talent, Mr. Odom Jr. (and his wife). Nice interview here. Can’t wait until he completes the second half of the EGOT! Seems inevitable.💯💃🏾🎼🎶🎵 I absolutely miss Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee whom I’ve got to meet and had a longtime loose connection via one of my late cousins who worked for them for years. Purely classy folks.

I hope and pray this comes to The Hippodrome in Baltimore because I don't have transportation to come to New York to see this. My mom introduced me to Purlie album soundtrack with Melba Moore and Cleavon Little when I was a little girl and I loved it.

Unfortunately, this is the play, not the musical. Take the train to NYC!

@@denisefromdc1796 that's ok I'm seeing The Wiz at the Hippodrome in Baltimore, I'll pass on Purlie play ( I like the musical better with Walk Him Up the Stairs ).

Why, oh why, wouldn't they do the musical instead of just the original play?

OMG nothing like the musical with Melba Moore and Clevon Little, you're right, I wasn't sure what version they were doing because Mr Odom Jr was in Hamilton so I assumed it was a musical. Why aren't there any trailer to actually see clips of what it's about?
