I am grateful that I lived in a time when I saw many of these people in person. Very grateful that recording technology has preserved their songs for as long as we care to listen.
Each day I’ll do a golden deed, By helping those who are in need; My life on earth is but a span, And so I’ll do the best I can. Refrain: Life’s evening sun is sinking low, A few more days, and I must go To meet the deeds that I have done, Where there will be no setting sun. To be a child of God each day, My light must shine along the way; I’ll sing His praise while ages roll, And strive to help some troubled soul. The only life that will endure, Is one that’s kind and good and pure; And so for God I’ll take my stand, Each day I’ll lend a helping hand. I’ll help someone in time of need, And journey on with rapid speed; I’ll help the sick and poor and weak, And words of kindness to them speak. While going down life’s weary road, I’ll try to lift some trav’ler’s load; I’ll try to turn the night to day, Make flowers bloom along the way.

What will we say when we stand at the Throne of Judgement. God loves us and Jesus died for our sins to be forgiven and wash us clean in soul and spirit. Please accept Jesus as your Savior if you have not already and love God with all your heart.
I used to have the double dis of time life's here haw gospel urtext Blum. The discs scratched after the case broke. I would live mother copy. This song I on that pt album
@clint johnson Please edit and fix the title. The song is titled, "A Beautiful Life" and not "Life's Evening Sun. You can verify the publication in the Red Back Church Hymnal. It is the first song listed in the general index and is on page 174.
Hymnals use two naming systems: first lines and titles. Then there is the tune name and the meter numbers, e.g. 8,8,8,8. Hymnal design is a complicated subject, e.g. GREAT SONGS OF THE CHURCH is 4 sections, each section in alphabetical order. Further is 4 or 7 shaped notes.
I have one CD of the Hee Haw Gospel Quartet. Did they put out any others, if they did I sure would like to get them. This was one of the best things they did on Hee Haw and I am not into religion but like hearing gospel music.
I will agree. Tracy Stifle was a great bass singer of the PERRYS. Especially on that song they sung; ' God Walks The Dark Hills '. Look it up. I am sure you will be blessed. All Gospel music are wonderful, as long as it sung to glorify Jesus Christ.
Thats when television was worth watching. Sure do miss it.
One of my favorite memories. My parents use to sing this alot while driving. I loved listening to them. Oh how I miss them
Thella Adams You will see them someday....
You were lucky!😊
What a blessed memory of those lives lived for others!
None no better I'm getting older now and I can see what that song means to me. Bless all of them.
No disrespect to any of the other bass singers, but Kenny Price was one of the best the HHGQ ever had. Just my humble opinion.
Great encouragement after my mom passed
The hee haw gospel quartet is one of my favorite grops
One of my favorite gospel songs as a child of the 60's.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and these guys do a wonderful job. Thank you for letting me enjoy this song, may God bless you.
Encouraging song to see all of friends that have gone already! 🙏
I grew up watching these people. What a wonderful group of people ❤
*sniff* I remember my precious dad singing this song with this quartet one evening at the coast😢. He's in Heaven now❤
Words to live by friends. May the Lord have mercy on our souls.
Lord help me to be ready for the time which is to come
Some of the best music ever we need more programs like the old hee haw show
I am grateful that I lived in a time when I saw many of these people in person. Very grateful that recording technology has preserved their songs for as long as we care to listen.
I heard my mom sing this a million times growing up! Its still great today!
I just love good, simple gospel music!
I’ll work till Jesus comes
Sometimes times when your world is falling apart then you have say praise JESUS
Beautiful I could listen forever, thank you.
I still remember the Hee Haw quartet on TV. Standing up there in their overalls and holding their hymn books open.
Why can't todays country sing like this? So beautiful. As George said Whos gonna fill their shoes?
+john allison I totally agree,,,,,,,
+john allison you said it.
because this is referred to as a southern hymnal instead of contemporary gospel
T
Thank you and Praise be to God for compiling this selection of true Americana Gospel music by such talented individuals.
Beautiful southern gospel done so well!
Me my Granddaddy and Grandmother sang this song every time we went somewhere traveling in the car... Love this song!

Beautiful song.
Heard this on WDVX and fell in love. Beautiful song
Gospel music is for praise and worship of God,not seeing how good singers look or how rich they are.
great post
Love this song.
Really nice to hear this kind of gospel music. Thanks
Beautiful hymn too bad they don't sing this in church any more
Bill Brown, you have to find the right church. I know of a few that still do.
We do at cedar grove freewill Baptist in Wilsonville Alabama.youre welcome to join us.theres a famous Jewish guy there most of the time.
We still sing this song. Duarte church of Christ.
Only a few congregations have a strong bass singer.
Churches of Christ congregation still sing these songs. We sing acapella. "Sing & make melody in your heart." Same as was done in New Testament.
AWESOME SONG!! Best version right here!!

Depends on the hymnal you are using

Appreciate natural tones

The only guy I would put alongside of Kenny price is Tennessee Erine ford
Cool
Kenny Price
A Gift.
Fin sang.
This was written by a man from near my home
Can't beat Tennessee ernie Ford for bass singer 😮😅😊
I like Tennessee Ernie Ford too but this isn't Tennessee Ernie singing bass. It's his predecessor, Kenny Price.
Kenny is tops!
I don’t think Kenny price was he best of the bass singers . I would give that title to Tennessee Ernie ford
I will agree. Tracy Stifle was a great bass singer of the PERRYS. Especially on that song they sung; ' God Walks The Dark Hills '. Look it up. I am sure you will be blessed. All Gospel music are wonderful, as long as it sung to glorify Jesus Christ.
