In the first few minutes we can see something I absolutely hate about the current rules of the game - what to do with empty unarmed transport trucks? Instead of selling them, the US player uses them to screen and scout and because of ROE your troops don't shoot at them at all. The ROE toggles you do have explicitly apply to ATGMs, but seem to actually apply to all types of weapons. What should happen is that these empty unarmed transports are captured by your side (or just automatically destroyed; "crew bailed out!") if they come within a certain proximity - same as what happens with capturing supply trucks and FOBs in wargame. It simply doesn't make sense that it works like it currently does.

Right bro. I also really hate this thing. This is actually does not make any sense in war. Btw, you can give your this feedback in Eugen's Official Discord Server.

Actually it is kind of ironic because WARNO has been specifically designed to address that exact issue as it was a flaw of previous Wargame titles. The ability to sell transports along with increasing the price of transports by 2x relative to income on average, and this was suppose to make it so suicide scouting would set a player behind in income severely. The problem is they also increased the income by roughly 2.3x instead of 2x (don't ask me why), on top of the fact you can sell transports so really the effective income is closer to 2.5x. If that wasn't enough, as you say the execution of the ROE system for infantry AT weapons is fundamentally flawed, as it is based whether or not a transport is full or empty. The point of the ROE system is to remove the tedious micro of having to manually turn off expensive ATGM teams so they don't waste ammo on low value & low threat targets, but the trigger they used is simply whether a transport is full or empty. This makes no sense from a realism perspective, but it also doesn't make sense from a tactical perspective. I suggested they change the trigger to a selection of point values that can be selected, as well as changing the ROE system so that individual units can be configured in game and then the game will remember your preferences for each type of unit. The point of this is so that cheaper ATGMs can be set to fire on almost anything, while more expensive ATGMs can be set to preserve their ammo for higher threat targets like IFVs and tanks. There should bit a manual override as well, so you can fire at a target in niche situations without having to mess with the setting. It all sounds very complicated, but if Eugen really wants to evolve RTS and finally make units more self-sufficient it will require something a little more sophisticated than simple triggers like "full transports only".

@@coletrain5667 ROE settings aren’t even that sound. I’ve seen many cases where, when I just happened to be microing in the right part of battle, a full transport will drive right up next to a building where my non-atgm infantry is and the won’t shoot their RPG or recoilless at it unless manually prompted to do so. These units do not have ROE toggles (those are only for atgm units) but they seem to adhere to the default setting of “never transports”

@@RIP_Greedo Infantry not shooting their AT weapon is actually a bug from previous wargames as well, and might not have anything to do with the ROE system. It happens with MANPADs and AT weapons in Wargame: Red Dragon. Eugen has some kind of systemic problem with polishing their games, which is tragic because they really have a lot of potential. We'll just have to see how WARNO continues to develop.

Im still undecided if its worth to buy this game having WRD... I was hoping for a more modern timeframe for the next Wargame...

Yeah bro, I also have expected some modern military techs in next wargame, but its still 89 era in WARNO. Its not much worth, but again worthy in some aspects as it is still in early access. I am also looking forward to Broken Arrow.

@@BlackBurnGamingYT Best looking explosions evaa though. Broken Arrow looks good too, they've really pushed the use of volumetric fog in that. Regiments, has the most persistent battlefields-terrain deformation I believe so not just decals, and they remain even multiple battles later, and the single player AI is amazing. Warno has the potential to be the best of all of them, it just lacks content.
And yeah, huge AirLand Battle fan. Probably the best RTS I've played, haven't played Red Dragon though. Assault Squad 2 was my other favourite, but it was stressful to play-I could only handle small doses. Wargame was almost...zen like. War on the Sea, Modern Sea Power, something about being a Task Force commander, U-Boat, Ultimate Admiral...there are so many coming out, and they're not actually competing with each other. I'll end up buying all of those. Because of my love for AirLand Battle, Warno I'm probably most anticipating-but Regiments will absolutely do for now. And just check out those explosions... Regiments looks great, but this is simply the best looking thing you've ever seen.

not worth it is almost the same game with some new UI. not totally new but from the steel division. so it is a combination of both steel division and Wargames: RD. ya, I was hoping the same but who knows Broken Arrow is around the corner. and I am waiting for it to be released. based on the demo it looks way better than Wargames or Warno, with customizations, units, animations, gameplay, you name it and it is just a demo.... if full game there will be mission editing, custom scenarios, etc... so let us wait and see
Edit: Warno has something so-called modding ability which is not a real thing anyways I am making my own mod for it and within weeks I will upload it to the Steam Workshop.
