her hair is like a metaphor. in the beginning her hair was straight and neat, shelby was being positive and still had self control. as each episode passed she started losing more self control and her hair showed that, it got more wild. remember the agents said she had dissoctive tendacies. when they were interviewing her she was acting as if nothing bad happened to her. she experienced so mucb truma from the island and at home. she is pushing down those thoughts of truma. when she shaved her hair, that was her breaking point
Her story is so tragic she has so much guilt in her for what happened to becca. And that she just couldnt be herself cause of her Family like when they saw the plane she was sad thats how fucked up her normal life was that she'd rather be on a deserted island with the others than with her family.
I love this show so much. So much depth in all of the characters, and what great acting! This scene kinda triggered me tho, I'd cut my waist length hair out of frustration ( i was going thru a rough time) and damn it was my breakingpoint. Thinking about it now makes me realise how i was kinda never the same after that period.
Poor Shelby !! Her crying and cutting off her hair was heartbreaking. And it films and the shows they show this cause it is a representative of rebellion. Just with with masculinity, women do it as a self destructive tool to help cope with trauma. When I was a in my younger teen years, I wanted to do that so bad because how my parents spoke about it and how they said I needed to make myself look more presentable!! 🥺😞😢💇♀️
in my opinion, shelby was the most complex character of all of them.
That is not an opinion. Thats a fact
I second that
Okay but like Fatin is so observant of everyone, she always notices everything.

Really love that observation
Most if the interview was an act. She didn’t want to reveal the truth to the agents because she was already sus of the entire thing
incredible acting by mia
I know right :)
Absolutely
