I’ve been playing guitar a very long time but I’m just really starting to delve into guitar theory. This stuff is awesome. By the sound of it, I would guess that the 3rd position is where B.B. King lived. Great video again, man!

Great to hear. Thank you, Teejay! What is the #1 thing you would like to learn on guitar? Maybe I can make a video on it. Cheers!

I am also dumb… what do you mean by the 3rd position (minor 3rd pentatonic or major house of blues) ? Thx!

I didn't quite explain it right Henk, sorry. The third position is when the tonic is on the b string. So if you are in the key of A, the 3rd position is when your hand is at the 10th fret since the b string at the 10th fret is A. Does this help?

@@SuperdangerStudios Thanks. I had the same question. There's an interesting video on how to find the key of a song. You play the major scale with the root on the G string, moving it up and down the neck until the scale sounds right. Do you know if the root on the G string has a name? Or why the root on the B string, the second string, is called 3rd position.?
