I like dresses to help hide the fact that I don't have alot of hips or booty. It's standard Size. My top is fuller.the dress actually balance my shape out. I like a shirt dress as a layering piece over a graphic shirt and stretch pants. Great video!

Great advice, I basically wear each style you mentioned. I fluctuate between a 12 and 14 and as soon as I eat anything my stomach bloats. Been like this for years. The advantage I have is I can make my own clothes so I can style clothes to fit my body. I have learned what looks good on me and to dress for comfort. Thank you for helping us women who struggle with dressing the best for our figures.

Empire line, V neckline, sleeve length, length of tops, different types of seaming, gathering, type of material, width of belt or waist line etc. all help to disguise bigger bellies. My mother is a seamstress and I grew up making my own clothes. You learn so many tips and tricks when you are truly interested in garment making. Even something as simple as the type of pattern on the fabric can make a huge difference. It’s a great skill to learn and can give you so much more confidence when you make a garment specifically for your own body!

JUST FOUND YOU!!!! I was looking for how to dress for my first cruise ever this coming August. I have been looking to find some cute, fun and comfortable items to wear. I have found some very ageing suggestions and I wanted something more youthful. I am 60 this year and I don't want to look older, which I do as a caregiver by nature, first my husband who needed 25/7 care, to now my sister who now resides with me. I am showing that worn out look of being a caregiver. I want a younger wardrobe but not tooo young and a classic and updated look. This is a great review! You really killed it with the white wrap dress - I mean seriously - that dress could not look better. Wow. I totally agree on the shirt dresses, the right cut and button down make them a great option for a third layering piece and I love that. I just recently got a ruched dress - it is ruched on both sides and it is pretty much a t-shirt material and shape (new from Wal-mart!). I think ruched styles, either on one side or both can create a shape and the folds create diversion from a belly. The dress I got is pretty body con so my plan is to wear it with a kimono wrap or nice button down on top to create that long vertical line ; )
