I think the two of you are the cutest ever. Oh my says the wife. LOL The green beans are so good. Just like mama used to make and I'm sure it's fine to add in potatoes too if you want to. Thanks for the joy this video brought me this morning. My beans are in the crock pot now.
sounds great.. i love soft green beans too.... want to make it soon... i need to use the green beans and do not have bacon...live far from the stores soooo i hope it comes out good without bacon.
My wife has what I call a brown thumb when it comes to gardening. Lol Seriously, Bush beans are just plant and walk away. This year, we had volunteer plants and ended up with a ton.

My family has told me that i cannot put ANY bacon in my green beans recipe because our guests do not like bacon (go figure)l....i want the bacon flavoring in the beans, do you know if ANY imitation bacon that i can buy that would give the beans some flavor but is not real bacon?????? I will make them without bacon if i have too but i won't eat the beans, i love bacon in everything i cook, including my Cream of Wheat (lol).............Help me if you can, I live in Nevada and we have a Krogers/Albertsons/Walmart for our grocery shopping................thanks and enjoy your videos. r ay lowery
You could always cook bacon ahead of time and save it and use the bacon grease to cook your beans in if it's about the texture for them and not the flavor. Or try your salad dressing section in your local store. Most of them have small packets of crumbled bacon that you could sprinkle(or in Mikey's case, dump) on your serving. As for who you invite over for dinner...can you really be friends with people who don't like bacon??? (Kidding...)
@@MikeyGoode My ex-wife did not eat pork, so she used imitation bacon bits in her green beans, and sometimes turkey bacon. I am ok with turkey bacon, the bacon bits add more flavor in my opinion.
Enjoy y'alls videos. Those beans look delicious. I just bought some fresh green beans to cook in the crock pot and now I have a recipe. Thanks!
Dad would make green beans all the time I love green beans
They do take awhile, but so worth it. Nothing better than green beans out of the garden and new potatoes with onion and bacon.
These are do good. I used Walla Walla Sweet onions. Can't wait for more fresh green beens.

How does this freeze, by the way? I'm cooking for just me, so I'm gonna have a ton of leftovers to eat! :)
Nicole Mazza We haven't frozen them. Darn things are so GOODe they don't last long 'round here! If you do, let us know how they turn out please!
Actually ended up finishing them up myself over the course of a few days, but will definitely update you if I freeze them at some point. :)

Maybe a tiny splash of liquid smoke? I would just find new friends personally. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life. 😂
